Ditto. Hope they heal quick. Hate to hear stuff like this but glad it wasn't worse.

I went to see DD this morning to return TJ's helmet. She was at the hospital seeing about TJ. He has three cracked ribs, and some good road rash on his leg. They were going to do some other xrays just to be safe. Debbie was hoping they would release him today.

I suggest visiting the Florida board to stay in the loop. Looks like other than making their bikes "a work in progress" they all will heal up OK to ride again.

Thank God for that!
The key thing is to wake up breathing! All the rest can be fixed. (Except Stupid - You can't fix that)

TJ is OK but he is still in the hospital & will be for a bit more. He is at Halifax right across from the Speedway. While we did not see his wreck as we were too far away & kickin' tires at that time but we sure heard it. After a group effort to talk TJ into going to the Hospital {he originally declined} Kim, Rick {Flask} & I stayed to make sure his bike got hauled safely to DD & Fred's house down the road in New Smyrna Beach. Rick {Flask} rode down to DD's to assist the wrecker driver in unloading TJ's bike. Kim & I headed up to the ER to check on TJ. He was there & much more coherent in the ER than he was earlier. Doc came in & said he had 3 cracked ribs & some blood in his lung that concerned them a bit. As of now {Sunday evening} he is up in a real room. Just talked to DD & she is on her way to TJ's to get his dog Max. With Max & his bike secured he can now focus on getting better!
The pics of TJ are well covered in MikeK's link. I got a few pics of the bike & wreck scene afterwards.

The "mark" TJ's bike left on the road! Yikes!!

This is where TJ landed.

He found the only patch of dirt in the whole parking lot! Clobbered the fence.

We had to pull the fender off the tire just to get it to roll.
Thanks to Rick for carrying some tools!
Carnage to the bike, RF brake line cut, LH mirror busted, LH saddlebag mount tweaked, LH windshield mount tweaked, rider backrest bent a bit, LH fog & signal lamp trashed, & obviously the front fender.

Dirt was everywhere.

Got it rolled up & tied down securely on the rollback for the trip to DD & Fred's. Only had the back brake to keep it in place! Fun ride up.  :o

Bike is fixable for sure. After TJ heals up he has another project on his hands!  :crazy2:

We'll keep you guys updated on the crazy old coot!

After he first declined going to the hospital, I was talking to him a little. He was standing and sipping some water, albeit a bit unsteady. After talking to him, I encouraged him to go get checked out because he wasn't making too much sense out of his answers. When I mentioned it to someone else, they asked how I could tell the difference....that's TJ, remember.  :2funny:

Seriously though, judging by the gouge in the pavement it appears the rear wheel kicked out to the right(loose gravel?) causing the left peg...or something, to catch and drag him to the left. If the fence hadn't been there, he would have t-boned a van parked on the other side of the fenced area. That would have been much worse I'm afraid. Heal up fast old buddy, let me know if you need any help. And for once, listen to DD....she now has the upper hand.

 ;D ;D ;D ;D  John!!!!

I knew he was OK when we saw him in the ER. He was pissing & moaning about the neck brace they were making him wear until the X-rays & CT were read.
Turns out with the cracked ribs & possible internal bleeding, going to the hospital was a good idea.
DD said not sure when he'll get out. Hopefully they'll check him over real good before they let him go.
He's going to be VERY SORE at the least! :o

Momz

I also went down on Wednesday. Low speed spill near Ridgeway and Fairview, no subtansial damage to the Rat Rod, but I thought I'd cracked a few ribs. A bit sore and my left hand was quite bruised and a small scrape on the left elbow.
That was my fault as we were so intent on getting some BBQ ribs or fresh seafood at black bike week (MM Bethune Blvd).
I need to stress (to self) to pay greater attention while riding in Daytona.

Glad you are OK Momz.
Riding in Daytona during BW can be very challenging.  :o

Just heard,

Glad both TJ and Momz are doing well. It sucks to go down but it happens. I hope you both get back on the bikes just as quick as appropriate.

Glad everyone is ok, I thought about going up to Daytona, but decided to stay out of that traffic. We had some good time down our way.
