Is there a way to shine, leatherlyke bag, so they will look a little bit better?

kicked out of gear.

I use a product called 303, its made for hot tub or spa covers, it provides a good UV protection and brings back the color in weathered items. You can usually find it at a hot tub or spa place, kinda pricey but it works great. I've been using it for years on my seat, tires, tank bib etc..., it doesn't make things shine but brings back the color.

I have heard of people using a product called "Back to Black" too. http://www.autogeek.net/motbactrimca.html

Don't know, but I've been told Armoral is bad, very-very bad to use on LL.

+1 on Mother's Back to Black.  Most Autozones carry it now, as does Ace Hardware.

I use Back to Black on my LeatherLyke bags. It really cleaned them up nicely and turned 'em from a dull gray back to a glossy black. The only bad thing is once the gloss comes back you can clearly see where the tassels whipping have worn down the leather grain surface downwind of the conchos.

I use the Back to Black on my 1500 Goldwing around the dash and plastic.  It works very well, restores color and shine; looks great.    I imagine it was developed to bring luster back to a dashboard in a car...much like Armorall but seems to do a better job restoring color not just shine.  The only drawback I see is that it is not durable. Being exposed to the weather the shine does not last real long and needs to be re-applied.  Not sure about using on LL

Not sure if this is the best stuff.... but I happened to have Meguiar's Dash and Trim foam in my garage and tried it on. Seemed to work reasonably nicely. Does not last forever of course but did the trick for me.

Cheers!

Back to Black! Took mine from almost gray to glossy black after a few apps. Works great on Jeep bumper end caps too!

On my Magna, I have always just washed my Leatherlyke bags and trunk off with very mild soapy water, wiped them dry well, apply Armor All liberally, let sit for awhile, then polish them up nicely with a clean dry towel. Of course, I have to do this every time it rains or when they get dirty - but it is worth it.  They still look like new after 40,000 miles.

Maybe Scott in Maine {formerly of Florida} will chime in.
I gave him a set of beat up Leatherlykes that I got when I bought my '99 & he worked absolute magic on them! They looked BETTER than new when he got done with them. cooldude

i discovered quite by accident that a product i bought online to treat the convertable top on my shelby, turns the bags nice and black without being shiney and fake looking. plus it sheds water like crazy.

its called RaggTop and is sold through many different stores around the country. go to www.wolfseins.com and you will see a list of dealers you can go to get it. it ain't cheap, but man is it a good vinyl protector.

i discovered it was good on the bags when i was treating the top of the shelby and some of it oversprayed onto my bike. i went to wipe it off and three weeks later the bags still look great.
