Americus, GA overnighter...

Napper and I are going to make an adventure ride to Americus this weekend... leaving Wetumpka/Montgomery, AL Sat'dy morning and riding over to Eufaula then on to Americus... naturally we'll have our eye out for some BBQ along the way. The plan right now is to also visit the nearby airfield where Charles Linburgh made his first solo flight, then ride on up to Andersonville, time permitting, to tour the not-so-Civil War POW camp facility.

We'll be staying at the Windosr Hotel in downtown Americus Sat'dy night... partly because it's a nice looking facility, but mostly ona counta they got a really nice lookin' lounge, and I'm waaaay overdue to party some... Anybody wanna join us?

I've got to get my ducks in a roll this weekend " Hank " for our ride to have some Q in Texas over the April Fools Weekend.Working on the road and having to work over-time on the weekends has left me little time to get one of my bikes ready for the super-slab to Texas. I would really like to check out Andersonville and plan to do so soon. If y'all don't make it this weekend you can count me in the next time

Sorry you can't make it, Joe... always good to hang with you... and the parties are always more better when your unique brand of humor is present!!! I suspect we'll be making the trip Sat'dy, but that don't mean we couldn't do 'er again... Heck, this trip will be my fourth time to go there.

Profoundly sad at the site itself, a for real tragedy for all concerned, prisoners and guards alike. Much about human nature is revealed for better or worse; however, the lessons are worth pondering for us all. 'Enjoy' isn't the correct word to express the experience, but meaningful and worthwhile nonetheless... Anyway, when the time comes that you can make it, we'll be glad to share the experience with you... Y'all come!
