For the GOTF attendees from DFW, please let us get a headcount and an idea of how many are riding with each announced group on Friday, April 1st, to the GOTF.  If you are forming up another group, let us know some details (leader, meeting point, when) so that others have options.  Also, please indicate where you will join up with the groups so we know who to look for and we don't leave anyone behind.

Thanks

Leave the house, point her vaguely south, twist throttle.

Stop for gas. Skritch head. Wonder how the hell I ended up in Louisiana.

Point her southwest, twist throttle.

Stop for gas. Skritch head.

Get on Oklahoma turnpike. Point her southwest. Twist throttle.

Stop at the house, kiss the wife. Point her vaguely south. Twist throttle.

I like your poll. Especially "Disco Dave Direct Drive"............ I just want to know if it has some sort of U-Joint?? :2funny:

I will be leaving Friday morning with Cowboy, and Jerry McAdams. We haven't planned the route or even what time we are leaving. I think that Cowboy said that he didn't want to take the Superslab to Houston, so we shall see what route he wants to take. We'll get together this weekend and try to nail down our plans for the ride down. So as you can see that our plans are as clear as mud.     :2funny:

I want Jerry and Cowboy riding with us.  With their paint jobs, no one will even see the other Valks so we can go as fast as we want.

OK, I can't make it this year, and I'm only an "Honorary DFW member" currently, but I could resist the "None of Your Damn Business" vote..... Sorry for any inconvenience! :2funny:

I was beginning to think I might be riding alone - at least to Centerville...  Then I voted (for myself :2funny: ) and it looks like I might have some company.   :cooldude:

Disco is this still your plan?

Please bear with me.  This is going to be difficult.  I'm actually going to propose a straight shot down I-45.      (Thanks for providing an alternative, Serk!)

Total miles: 294 to the Howard Johnson Houston NASA-Clearlake, 15313 Gulf Fwy, Houston, TX, (281) 484-1500.

Meetup #1: 0545 at the 7-11 at Eldorado & Hillcrest in Frisco to top off the tank(s).
KSU: 0600

Dallas North Tollway south to I-35 to Woodall Rogers to I-45 south
Pit / Fuel stop in Ennis and/or Corsicana and/or Fairfield, depending on various fluid levels      It's 156 miles & 2:24 + stop(s) to breakfast and Meetup #2.

Meetup #2: 0900 Centerville where 5_19 (and anyone else who wants to) will join the group.  Breakfast location TBD.  Suggestions???
KSU: 1000-ish for the last 138 miles / 2:01 + stop(s)

I-45 south to Hardy Toll Road
Hardy Toll Road south to I-610 east
I-610 east / south to I-45 south
I-45 south to Exit 30, Dixie Farm Road
HoJo in the N Quadrant

We should get to the HoJo around 1:00 to see if the rooms are ready.

Note: If anyone would like to meetup along this route at a location other than #1 or #2 above, please chime in and we'll swing through and get you.  If we get to more than 6 bikes, I suggest we break into smaller groups separated by a 30-60 seconds so we don't become a parade and/or a nuisance to those we'll be sharing the road with.

RainMaker

Disco Dave's route is the most popular so far, although Serk's Scenic will be picking up Hoser, Clint and MP in Athens.

Looks like no issues so far with the "greater than six" parades!

(Side note - my return from the GOTF will be up Hwy 6 through College Station to drop off a laptop to #2 son, maybe a quick trip over to Snook to get the Chicken Fried Bacon before the ride down on the 16th.  Trying to figure a Bluebonnet ride return avoiding the superslabs.)

Yes, Garfield.  That's me.  I'll have at least one other with me from the start, but don't know if a vote in the poll has been cast to reflect that.

We'll meet-up with Disco at 7-11.  I have some folks in the Woodlands that I plan to stop and visit, so I will ride with the group till we get there.  Then HoJo sometime in the late afternoon...

Careful there Daniel, "vaguely south" could end up in Brazil.

But... Can you just IMAGINE the books he'd write after cruising Brazilian beaches on his Valk for a week or two??? Just THINK of it!

The hotel is at the first exit after you on45 south and hot glues road is the second.IF your on I-45 catch 242 just north of the woodlands take it to 1485 and the rest is the same. I was kinda wondering the same thing... I think part of the problem is someone mistakenly put the word "Slow" in the name of the ride... ;)

We are picking up Trubador in Kaufman on our way down Friday, so our group count is now three.

O.K., here is the plan for travel for the Fort Worth crew heading down to the GOTF. I am meeting Cowboy Friday morning at the Q.T. gas station on the corner of I-820 and Clifford at 09:45AM. We leave to pickup Jerry McAdams at 10AM at the corner of I-820 and Trail Lake Dr.. We will take I-35W South to Waco where we will then get on TX-6 southeast down to Houston. Take 610 around Houston and pickup I-45 South to Friendswood. Should take around 6 hours or so to get there. Can't wait.    :D
