slip away before you've had a chance to tell all your Friends and Family that you love them....seize life and suck the marrow out of it.....I wish I could have had some more time to spend with my friend Brian...... :( :(

Make the most out of today, because we aren't promised tomorrow.... :(

Well said SS. Life is fragile and can be short.   :'( Live and love for today, we don't know what tomorrow will bring.
.....say to those with fearful hearts, "Be strong, do not fear; your God will come, he will come with vengeance; with divine retribution he will come to save you."

I know who wins in the end.

Sunday morning I enjoyed a good time in my Sunday School class with good friends. One of my closest friends and riding buddy was there along with another friend Vic Arnall, just an all around good guy and a lot of fun to be around. Yesterday morning I get a call that Vic had a logging accident and had been killed. I sure waste a lot of time on things that don't really matter and between this and Brian's situation I intend to concentrate on the time I have left and how I want to use it and leave yesterday behind.

Very true. Lost my best friend in a car accident 5 yrs. ago this month. He was 24 yrs. old. Still hurts to this day. Another dear friend was in the truck with him and walked away with a broken wrist. Ya never know when your number's up...

I was told that when I was very young by my Grandmother.
When I end an E-mail or letter to a friend I always end it with
I love Ya,knowing that maybe the last he hears from you
or the last thing you get to say to them.

Thank you Stanley.  I never rode with Brian but I met him at Johnson City.  He and Carl were conducting the VRCC memorial for Steve.  Because of him I met Rhonda and Noah too. Brian is a a fine man.

This reminds us of our own mortality.  I've lost all of  my riding buddies that I first knew.

I'd never heard this song before untill.......

On the afternoon of April fools day of 2005 (the joke wasn't on me) I was told that I had kidney cancer and probably wouldn't make another year if it spread and in fact, the odds were against me.  The next day I had to go in for some more tests and CT scans.  On the drive home after that, I heard this song for the very first time.  I thought somebody had wrote it for me.  The weight of it all hit me at that moment and I pulled over on the side of the road and balled like a baby.

The next week I didn't go sky diving, I didn't go Rocky Mountain climbin',  and I didn't ride a bull named Fu Man Chu.....I went Valk shopping (it's the closest I can get to flying without leaving the ground).....and I'm still here livin' like I'm dying.   :cooldude:
I can't help about the shape I'm in
I can't sing, I ain't pretty and my legs are thin
But don't ask me what I think of you
I might not give the answer that you want me to

I heard this song not long after I found out I  needed heart surgery. Makes you think!
