Posting this on both boards.

OK,we all know that our Valks use radial tires. Darksiders use radial car tires; some with radial front M/C tires and others with a rear bias tire turned backwards.

I've had Bridgestones (junk), Avons that can't go 10K, and I've tried Metzlers that are a bit better than Avons in tire milage. My old GL1100 could easily get 30K on Elite IIs.

So besides JimC of Wisconson, has anyone else used bias belted tires front and rear? I'm considering useing a Dunlop 402 16" on the rear and a Dunlop 404 17" in front.

Has anyone done this, and what type of mileage have you got from those bias belted tires?

My perspective is from the darkside. I was running an elite II in the front of my 97 with a 205/60-16. I just bought a 404 Dunlop for the front, when I get her on I will post my opinion.

I swear by Avons. Have had several sets. The worst rear went 14K and front was 17K. My current rear Cobra has 23K and it's still not down to the wear bars. I have a compressor and keep them at 42F and 46R. I don't know why some have such poor performance out of Avons.

I am on my second D404 front tire.   I like this tire for handling.  But unlike some in other parts of the country, I am only getting around 10K out of it.  I blame the chip coated roads around here for wearing down the tire quicker than some folks experience.  I wore the tread down to less than 1/16th of an inch without the cupping that I got with E3's.  Handling was still great when I replaced it.

Good tire, great handling, and probably will buy another one in 10K miles.

I know that WDAN is using the same set up I am, I don't know if he will see your post because he is currently recovering from heart surgery.

Also, I think Hoser has been running them for quite some time.

Good luck,
Jim
