Just replaced all mine with OEM. If you start mixing the EBC's and other Brake Pads with OEM Rotors then you will get nothing but heartache. Now if you are going to change your rotors to EBC then go with EBC Pads. I dont think this is a "War" Subject like Oil and Tires but you never know.

slider...bigcountry is right-on about the pads...the genuine TOJO-HONDA brake pads are the best way to go.

The OEM pads will go easy on your rotors, which are way expensive compared to pads. If you want to use alternate brand pads, use their rotors as well.

I went with the cheapo pads on the rear when she started complining vocally that she needed them. I haven't had decent rear brakes since (about 4 weeks before winter storage). I thought maybe needs bleeding. Going Dark before I take her out this spring, so rear brakes will be important.
Got my MityVac in the mail today, and will bleed the crap out of the rear to see if it helps. If not, OEM all around in May.

Oem pads on bike when i got her. Prior to replacing with oem pads-and the wear grooves gettin close had an occasion that in volved a really hard stop. I'm still here-so is the bike-and btw-so are all 3 of my rotors. Look on HDL parts fiche-pads way way cheaper than rotors.

I have a '97 Tourer and when it came time (2001) to replace my first rotor (the rear) I found that the EBC cost about 1/2 as much as the OEM, so that's what I went with along with new OEM pads. No problems or noises. Likewise, when it came time to replace both front rotors, again EBC's with OEM pads!! Still no problem or extra noises. At 234K I'm still on the EBC front rotors, which have gone thru about 3 set of pads, so far. By-the-way, as far as "break-in" goes, all I do is ride normally, no gentler or harder stops than necessary, just as needed.
