well, i talked with honda this afternoon....believe it or not, they are as we speak actively making the universal joint.  the due date is somewhere between april 15 - april 30.  those that have already ordered their u-joints will get them first.  guarantee you these joints will almost automatically go right bac into back order, but honda will make as many runs as they have to do to fill them.  this is really great news.  just thought everyone would be glad to hear this.   Smiley Smiley Smiley Smiley

I bet that backorder list is pretty long by now. I'm on it too (as of January) but I'm not holding my breath on getting it in May.

With all of the models that use this thing, they will probably make a ton of em. I'll order mine next month and see what happens. Let you know then.

I sure do. If we had to pay prices like that for repair parts how would we ever afford to pay the nosebleed prices that "out of production" chrome is going for these days?  crazy2

Just out of curiosity anyone have a clue how Honda would check for quality on those U-Joints ?? I would imagine they would want to test them before full production run ....

It's the least of their problems: It costs them $50 to fill a Valk, and it goes on reserve at 120 miles (or less) just like ours.   Shocked

cooldude this is real good news and I hope its legit. I didn't  want to skip over to the Harley side just because I couldn't find parts but it happened before with my V65. I thought it was time to let her go. Then again, I've   never had a problem with my valk other than small stuff, like the petcock, brakes and tires. I ride my bike like I hate it and haven't put any money in it that was out of the ordinary. A work friend of mine has an 06 Harley that has 60k and had engine work done 3 times. He said he wishes he bought a used valk or a wing or a BMW. He said, these bikes are made to talk about and a bike like mine is to ride. Lol

So .... is it safe to assume that the crisis is over and we'll be seeing some laid up scoots back on the road ??

I went to pick up my u-joint today.  It never delivered.  Mistake made by new person as I had something else deliver (the u-joint boot).  Spoke to owner...u-joint on backorder again.  New due date = 06/19/2011. I believe this is mentioned elsewhere.
