This is the second year I've had mine.
I put my new 6 degree trees (also from Daryl) in when I rebuilt the Phat Lady after a lateral cartwheel through a diesel spill, a couple of years ago.

Are you extending the forks at all? I added 1 3/8", as per Daryl's advice.

I made a number of other changes as well. I used 11.5" progressive shocks on the rear as well.
I'm 5'10" with a 30" inseam, now I sit with my feet flat on the ground. I've got the her fitting me really well. Went back to a stock trigger wheel.

When I had the bike re-certified for the road, it almost failed. Fortunately the owner of the shop questioned his mechanic when he said the frame was out by 4.5 inches. He told me the bike looked great and that he had never seen a frame get stretched before. He figured out it was the triple tree and passed the bike.

I have been surprised by the number of times I've been asked if the bike is longer than normal, even by people are not familiar with the Valk.

Remember to follow the manual for reassembly. I did the first time, everything went perfect, the second time I learned why I should have listened to Daryl and the manual. Not a all difficult, just follow the steps in the right order and it works perfectly. Change the order and it doesn't.

Good riding!

Glenn

the cool thing about daryl's 4-degree triple-trees is that you don't put tube extensions on, and you also still run the stock shock height of 13 inches.

I lowered my rear end with Progressive 430's in 11.5 inch length, 205/55 Yoko A048 Car tire and no fork extensions.  I love this setup.
