Alternator whine?

(1/2) > >>

fudgie:
I noticed the other day i could hear my alternator 'whine' so to speak. I guess I mean I can hear it spin as the bike is started and at low speed. It is a new noise and that caught my attention. I had it out and serviced by a alt/starter guy. He said brushes were good and he repacked the bearings. It still charges good and everything. Is this something to be concerned about? I was gonna call him next week and ask but thought i'd run it through you all 1st.

PAVALKER:
Isn't all that normal?

Well I guess!  :D But I never heard it before I had it serviced. Its a new noise and when i first heard it i thought my pads were rubbing the rotor.

junior:
its the i touched it i might of messed it up syndrom, ie you  had your alt serviced now it whines, how often do you look for dropps of oil after an oilchange? or look at the tires after you have had them changed to see if they are losing air? ;D
