New Stable Mate for the Valk

Picked up a 1994 Magna Friday from Houston,  needed / needs some work,  but after plug change, Oil and Coolant change, some carb cleaning, flushing the brake fluid and some polishing it seems like it will be a keeper.  My son wanted a bike so he could ride with me.  Now the garage is getting full.

Tell him to be careful on that Magna.  It'll run with the Valk, and is a little twitchy IMO.

I'd like to hear this too ! Could you be speaking of how it is lighter and more nimble than the Valk?

The only drawbacks I can find with them are that with Drum rear and single disk front brakes they can be deceiving in sport bike like performance. And being chain driven...I mean seriously,Honda! A freakin' CHAIN ? ? ?

I have not experienced anything i would describe as twitchy,  but is is strong,  does not feel as strong as the valk,  but very well balanced and pulls hard, I always felt in control.   With that being said,  I will repeat,  it is powerful,  and very smooth.

My neighbor has taken me out of the hole on his Magna more than once,   Keep in mind he's 5' 4" and half my weight. He's 54 years old and been racing most of his adult life. He has several bikes.
Believe me that bike is a wolf in sheeps clothing. Lot of bang for the buck, good bike. Best of luck with it

My wife bought my Valk for my birthday a few years back so she inherited my '94 Magna.  She likes it almost as much as I like the Valk.  To learn, I took her to a big empty church parking lot on Saturday.  Ten minutes and 4 laps and no problems.

Just bought my wife one too. Awesome bang for the buck,I just think Honda could have made it better....they made the Valkyrie after all !

Like Tundra said-be careful. Like I thought, she turns about the same time as the Valk in the 1/4 and @ around 500 lbs!

I have a 84 V65. I don't know why Honda didn't pattern the new Magnas after it mainly the power of the V4.  Seems they cut a lot of corners to keep down cost. I still like them and there a good bike and can be had at a good price.

Congrats....  Nice...        I also picked up a Magna this weekend, although a bit older...  it's a Black 1983 Magna V45 in really nice condition.  No pics as of yet.... but here is what that vintage Magna looks like.... only mine is Black....

   

Looks nice, runs great.....needs nothing but an oil change soon, and I'm not quite sure what I will do with it (other than ride it now and then). I might consider teaching the GF to ride with this bike, and not my 73 CL350

i have an 83 v-65 magna. makes stupid hp. gonna find a nice newer 750 magna and put my other 1100cc motor in it. see what she will do then!!!

With a Shaft drive swing arm and another disk brake up front you will give the V-Max sleepless nights,waking up in a sweat for sure !
