I've torn my o-ring on the disconnect from Redeye.  Pretty sure I should have a spare that came with it - but I don't.  Ordering today from Redeye - but DON'T want to be parked until it arrives.  Does anyone know the size of this o-ring?   Help Please!!!

Can you take it to a hardware store and just match it up? Our little true value hardware has a good selection of them and are very helpful. Just a thought as I too wouldn't want to wait to ride.

You could remove it and replace it with a piece of hard tubing. Temporarily that is!

Went to my local Orielly's and they we're pretty much out of only the one that seemed to match.  They're bringing some in from a store in the next town and will have them here in a little over an hour.  Pretty sure it will be a match.

I'll know soon!  Thanks!  Al

Ricky - if I can't track down an o-ring in a couple of hours I will do that.  Thanks!

Excuse me, not trying to start a war here, but why does everyone need this quick disconnect?

Do you remove the tank that much?    If you remove the tank every month for some reason or another, I can almost see the need for one.

I've got 242+ K on MGM, and the last time the tank was off was when we desmogged him, about 3 years ago.....       I just can't see the need for the damn thing.     Oops, pardon my French.

Back when they were 1st talked about here, I put one on MGM.   Worked good for awhile and then it started starving for gas up around 90.      About a week later I removed it, and I just came across it in the bottom of the junk box yesterday.

Oh well, I was just curious on the need.

Thanks in advance.

RJ - I put it on to try and make the tank removal/re-install a bit easier.  Saw folks on this board talking about it, so I figured I would give it a try.  I don't remove it all that often, so frankly I'm not sure it's worth it.  I don't really find the quick disconnect all that easy to use.  It certainly is a step up from removing the fuel line from the petcock, but not that much.
Had the tank off for carb rebuild, desmog & new petcock and just got her back together a few days ago.  Took it off today out of ignorance.  Needed to adjust my throttle cable a bit after having it apart, but it turns out I could have gotten enough adjustment at the handlebar end...
Prior to that it had been a couple years.
I suspect if I had it to do over, I would skip it.
