Who has experience with Tsukaya bags?

I'm looking hard at the Vinyl covered "Strong" series of bags. I think they'll go nicely with the Corbin Gunfighter I picked up recently.

Their batwing fairings look pretty badass too.

I have had the Tsukaya bags for about 3 years now and I think they are a great product for the money. They fit good, seal good when closed, and nothing cheap or inferior about them. Good paint job. That's pretty much what I want to know. They seem impossibly inexpensive for what is offered but I like the looks and wide range of options. I also like the vinyl covered option as I won't have to paint them to match. If you don't mind my probing, which model do you have?

The Mustang bags are another option in a covered bag.  You can get 'em plain or with studs.

As for a fairing, I'd recommend a Woody.  They're custom made for the Valk.

Have had a couple sets of the Tsukayu Strong bags. One on my 97 Standard and a set on my wife's Vstar 650. They are quality fiberglass, are lined, and have good weatherseal.

They mounted up to both bikes very easily. I think they have changed the mounting brackets some which takes care of very minor clearance issues. Don't have either bike anymore but the bags held up well throughout ownership.

I did add a plate to the back of the bags for added support and also when teamed up with the Hitch-Doc added more support as well.  I'm pretty happy with the results.

The bags are good but the latches were a disappointment. The tabs mounted on the lid are attached so close to the edge they have cracked the plastic. There is no adjustment so they cant be repositioned. The latch needs to be in the right position otherwise it will put undue stress on the tab when its latched down. I would like to buy some aftermarket latches but havent found any yet.

Hef, I think you misunderstood (though I worded it kind of strangely). I think they're very inexpensive. That's why I was concerned about quality but by most accounts you get good quality for your money.

If I had known about these bags, I probably would have picked them over my Nat'l Cycle bags.  Fiberglass is alot better than thin ABS plastic, IMO.  The thing I didn't like (if this is the same bag), is the one size fits all, Mickey Mouse mounting brackets.  But I love the look of the bags.

Look at Sodbuster's second pic.  It shows the mounts.  I had a set that I was going to use for a bag project, but sold them instead when I went with a different bag.  They are pretty thick and should make for a rock solid mount I'd think.

I've been looking too.  I have the OEM leather bags that are in very good condition but are smaller than I want.  I've been looking at these.  I don't know if anyone has any experience with them but the price seems to be right and the bags look nice.

This clearly shows how the Tsukayu brackets rest up against the Hitch-Doc .... nice long flat surface - This really helped keep the bags from moving up and down - without the Hitch-Doc you would be relying on the spacer mounting surface (about 1" dia) to stabilize the bags but prolly would be pretty stable.

Nine year old topic...I know! I have had Tsukaya bags for about four years, and I am very happy with mine. Lots of storage capacity, leakproof and dry, easier to access and load than the side doors on the Vulcans.

But the little black conical hard rubber widgets (cone washers, mounting spacers, feet)  that hold the chrome brush bars out from the bag are cracking and deformed from sunlight and oxidation. Where can I get new ones, please?

If it is basic/standard hardware stuff, any hardware store should carry it, I've replaced the rubber mounts bits a couple of times but those were basic rubber washers.
