I was contacted by SRS to price a tool set for students in 'Vocational rehabilitation' at the Manhatan KS vocational school. I hand delivered the quote today, and when I got out of my truck in the SRS parking lot I was overwhelmed by the smell of marijuana. There was smoke rolling out he windows of two different vehicles,both had 2 occupants and windows just open a crack with engine running and A/C on. As I walked by the closest car I heard a female say "That's Bullshit,Mom !" and handed what looked like a small cigar,still burning, to the older woman and followed me into the building. The first thing that came to my mind was....I can't afford the parts to fix the a/c in my truck and SRS probably paid to fix theirs so they could smoke pot in comfort!

You know what's most scarry about people like this?  They think this is normal!  Like he said, I'm just being "me". 

And it doesn't matter if you're male or female, or what color you are, wrong is wrong.  There was some news story on TV last night about some "Housewives" of LA or somewhere.  Appartently, one of their husbands commited suicide, but what was really shocking is the clips from some of the shows.  These middle-aged, white, rich (I imagine they're rich???) spoiled women were screaming and swearing at each other and pulling each other's hair, etc.  Kids and young adults watch this and think this is normal behavior.  Oh, and they said these shows were "highly rated"  .

What did they say about the Roman Empire?  They were never conquered from the outside, they fell apart from within.  If we don't get back some morals in this country, I'm afraid we will eventually see the same fate.

Actually, that's the cylinders on the top of my air compressor.  That's not the bathroom, that's the room I have my belt sander, compressor, drill press, etc. in.   Keeps the flying debris out of the main garage.

Getting back to the original comments about the new generation: I'm exposed to a couple of hundred kids a day. Ages from K through 8th. About 10% cause 90% of the problems. If the kids I see are typical, we don't have anything to worry about. Those 90% will be just fine.

39 Chev; that's a GREAT looking barn you have there my friend! (Car is nice too!) Are the trophies from shows with your car? Three of them look like they're from the same show, but different year's maybe? Are those "real" signs along the wall or reproductions? I have. . .  40 or so up along the walls edge, but only a handful are "real" and only two are porcelain. I just like the looks, in particular the Sinclair signs! (hung out at a Sinclair as a boy!) I have a couple big Pontiac signs too and a Honda racing banner I scored somewhere!

Anyway, I was going to suggest all of us post pictures of our garages on a new thread, but mine looks like a worn pup tent compared to yours! I think I have a case of 'garage envy" now!  ???
