Friends new paint

This bike belongs to a friend I work with. What do you all think. What would a paint job like this cost??  It is a 2011 103"
The pictures are from my phone and really dont do it justice.

I've seen 20 thousand dollar paint jobs that were not so great and 2 thousand dollar paint jobs that were amazing. I'd hate to venture a guess.

HD has long been said to represent 'hundred dollars' for each trip to the dealer.

Anvil is correct it is not paint, but vinyl graphics. I was blown away by the detail. It is not cleared over. It is one of the new 3M products. Absolutely amazing. I have seen some decals that looked grainy and pixilated. It removes fairly easily with heat, and protects the paint. He has a total of around $900 with the artwork layout, product, and installation. It will be interesting to see how it holds up.

We have some with muck less detail in some "Wraps" on some work trucks that have held up well.

Great looking paint, but +1 on Anvil's comment. I've seen spray paint jobs that look AMAZING, and expensive ones that look like they were done with a spray can.

I know it was done in Fenton Missouri, but do not know the name.

The only thing that I do not like about it is on the front fender, to get the contour of the curve, the is a few cuts in the vinyl that leave a line. You really have to look hard for them though, and if I did not know it was vinyl I never would of spotted them.

Just sent the pic to a buddy of mine who owns a sign company. He replied back - "Wanna do something like this to yours?" I just replied back "sure." No doubt he'll give me a helluva deal as I do stuff for him too. Now all I need are some ideas. Are there any websites with pics?

I have an acquaintance, that could do that, airbrushed, freehand, and MUCH better (not that that is bad, but his has a spectacular "depth", that is impossible with vinyl). He IS expensive, figure 6 to 8 grand, but it WOULD be one of a kind, and NO one else would have anything to compare with it. Unfortunately, he suffers from severe ADDS (?), and can't make a living at it, or anything else.

Sure wish I had artistic talent. I'm technical - I can manipulate ANYthing to make it do what I want, but I can't come up with the original idea, and put it on paper. Frustrating...

Actually, you can pretty much do whatever you want with digital manipulation, the new vinyls are not necessarily pre-printed. You can do whatever you want in p-shop (like a dude walking on water for instance) and then print it on vinyl.

But nothing beats paint when it's done right.

They could have made something up...  just to make it look like something.  Maybe even spelled something out... 

Or if you're right... yet another reason why I won't be doing it.
