While waiting for a convienant time to repair a insert that had pulled out of the back of my IS fairing, I lost it, the insert that is. Went to HDL web site ,and to the dealer. Looks like they only come with the fairing can anybody verify this? Or does anyone have a source, maybe a scrapped fairing? The dealer ordered me (flanged 5mm nuts)from their micro fiche but, they were not what I was looking for.

I destroyed several inserts when replacing the windshield last year. Bought a handfull of inserts and screws from the Honda dealer. Not a problem; but I thought they were expensive for what you get.  :(

Here you go, item #13 $2.50 each from HDL.

I know this is an old thread but I want to clear up confusion. The part number noted above is the WRONG one... I know... I now own 10 of the wrong parts because I searched the VRCC for the part number and used this thread (no blaming, my own fault for not double checking)

The correct part number for the brass insert into the fairing is: 90316-MJ1-000

I am not posting this to be a smart-arse, I just don't want anyone else to mistakenly order the wrong part because of this number mix-up. The brass knurled insert IS NOT #13 on the above linked fiche.

i went to the local hardware store and got some brass inserts for wood working, drilled em out to be metric, then inserted 'em with JB weld.  had to do the same thing with my windshield.  after installing the new bolts i put anti-sieze on 'em to get them out easier next time.
