Let our VRCCR's know when

they post a great riding story with pictures.  As Smokin' Joe pointed out the other day, political posts seem to get more responses by far than posts about rides.

I know that I really appreciate motorcycle posts as I don't ride very far anymore.  Al;though I like my home state, here in the northeast we have flatlands, no curves (well maybe a few). 

I still enjoy riding but seeing great rides here is especially nice for me.

We are approaching the PMS season in many states, including Indiana, and it would be nice for more ride stories from the 'all year riding states'.  (and less political which do nothing but bring out the worst in us).

Maybe even very short stories with one or two pics about something unusual in your area.

Or... a separate trip report section. Maybe a weekender section plus one for epic tours. I enjoy seeing pics and reading trip details about places I've yet to visit.

I don't always post back to the ride reports, but I read them, and contribute to their read-counts...

Ride reporters can look at the read-counts and know that lots of people are enjoying the effort they
made...

Not sure solo1. I like curves but a nice scenic road/highway does justice for me. 24 to Wabash, Blue Star Highway to Lagro, and through the Salamonie State Forest is my favorite roads.

I agree Brian.  The 24 ride to Wabash is extremely nice, so is the ride that I take on North River Road, highway 327 to the lakes, etc.I didn't mean that it takes curves to make it interesting.

However, our interesting roads don't photograph well for those that are spoiled by curves, waterfalls, hills, etc.

I took 25 pictures the other day while riding and only one seemed interesting enough to post.

I read them all. I feel bad when i don't respond to them.   But all i have is a computer at work. And on that computer is lots of red X's. I can see some peoples pic's but not many.

I agree with you 100%. I come to this board to enjoy discussing our hobby with like minded individuals.  Many of us ride to get away from the pressures of the real world and unfortunately some feel the need to drag the reality back into the hobby by bring the political annoyances here.  I do not understand why they do that.

I also like seeing the ride reports especially those with images.  It's kind of an on line version of Roadrunner magazine.  I know when I posted a report with images of our recent trip to Colorado

I received emails from folks with questions as well as positive comments.  The fact that some folks appreciated my efforts to present the report was encouraging.

For those of you who are on Facebook you can see photo's of some of the places we visited by checking out my page Denny CWRailman. I do not know much about Facebook and only use it to store my images so don't expect too much.

I know what you mean. I never take pix around here anymore, unless its a off the wall stopping point, which are a few around the reservoir.

If you want to read some ride reports I always put ours on our website with photos and a map of the route.

Not all Valks (there are only 2 of us with them) and it is Spain not the US but if you are getting withdrawal symptoms it may be for you. We ride all year sometimes giving August a miss if it is too hot.

I agree! Put the political posts on a separate forum and let folks rip each other to shreds if they want. I, too, come here as an escape from the more mundane aspects of life and hate it when things like political posts intrude.

  hey Wayne thanks for posting, I've gotten away from the boards because of all the bs political post's it started to take away my enjoyment of the club it's supposed to be fun right? Nobody on this forums is going to change my mind about my politics, with that said I can still be friends with folks that don't have the same political views, religious belief's or even ride the same bike as me.

I do like to see post's about riding and motorcycle related subjects I also enjoy post's about friends getting together and a good joke ( just not political)     sometimes it's hard to distinguish  which posts are what, I wish there was an app for that. or at least a icon.

anyway good post...and I was up in your old stomping grounds the other day, Lewiston area and all over the northwoods. Bow season is open and the woods are in perfect color right now.

Bob I can hijack my own thread by saying some of the VRCCR's also enjoy hunting.

I remember lots of beautiful Fall days in the Lewiston area when I bowhunted there in October.

There were days that I sat in my ground blind and hoped that no deer would show up  to interrupt the sound of the leaves falling, the wind sneaking up on me and the strident call of the  blue jays.  AND the smell of those wet leaves when it was raining.

When I first started hunting there,  no raised platforms of any kind permitted, natural OR artificial.

Hunting and riding was it for me.  Now only the riding remains.
