Although dated it is pure 60 minutes.

Morgan freeman solves the race problem.

Secretly in my heart I knew this was the answer, but never really put it into words.

He did.

I will.

If ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,you thought I was gonna say if they will.

I will now say,, if we all do.

See the difference. It is so simple.

Well Anvil,I do reserve the right to get smarter.

Your comment is baseless, and yet you make it.

I have never given you this idea, but you start with , that ain't what I heard.

I recall something you said very recently about how black people need to be whipped in order to get them to work. I didn't even make an issue of it at the time but I wasn't the only one who noticed. However if I'm attributing this to you and it wasn't you then I apologize but I'm pretty sure it was.

I think I said I reserve the right to get smarter.

I did say that and because of the way I was raised, this was a common statement rooted in hate.

A wise man will change his mind but a fool never will.

I am that fool that has changed his mind.

Thanks for noticing my stupid prior comment and I think we can all do better.

Anvil you are right.

No apology needed.

Thanks

Good posts!

For a few years I walked in the mall with a black man.  We talked about many things. I asked him one time if he ever saw discrimination when he traveled in his RV.  He said "No".  Ernest (Tack) was an out going friendly guy who was a pleasure to be with.  He probably saw discrimination but wasn't looking for it and ignored it.

When Tack died I went to his funeral at his Baptist church, along with many other friends including members of the Ft. Wayne Fire Department, both black and white.  I was greeted with open arms by his family.

We might learn something from him even though he was much less known than Morgan Freeman.

Positive thinking goes a long ways, thanks for posting this, Big Al.

Oh won't apologize. I'll certainly give you credit if you've honestly rejected that ignorance though.

"A wise man will change his mind, a fool never will."

Very well said Al, many people here on the board say that these kind of conversations are pointless because they will never change anyone's mind. I disagree completely, I've had my mind opened and my opinion changed by several here on the board on various subjects and I deeply appreciate someone taking the time to educate me a time or two.

I feel bad for those who can never have their minds changed by a logical argument. Once you've decided you can't learn anything from anyone else it's a self-for-filling prophecy and you won't be able to.

yesterday met a newbie just four days driving and we talked for a bit, and we shook hands and went our ways. nice guy, was he black, white, asian? does it matter?

Id say that in any matter involving the piloting of a motor vehicle that it matters if they were Asian. Have you seen those people drive? Or flay an airplane for that matter?
