You sure would nor be disapointed. I live in Colorado & The Rockies here are totally beautiful...but the Canadian Rockies are magnificant! British Columbia is awesome. I have ridden Three Flags Classic ( Mexico to Canada) fourteen times. That is how I was introduced to Canada. You gotta go to Alberta & British Columbia sometime on a vacation.

Beautiful shots    Thanks for taking the time and effort to share the ride .I have a question how big of a pain in the ass is it crossing the border ? Have you ever been searched ? Did they empty travel bags , saddlebags etc. in that search ?

Being so close to the border, I travel across on my bike often to ride the Adirondacks and I have never been checked either way (Canada or US customs).  I would say that I have crossed about 30 times in the last 2 years.  If you don't give them attitude and answer their questions politely you will be on your way in about 15 seconds.  The line up to get across can be long though, especially on long weekends.

The last time I corssed into Canada from the USA was in 2003 at Roosville, MT.

Low population area and they went over my Valkyrie with a fine tooth comb.

Kept trying to trick me asking multiple times if I had any pepper spray.

Hi All Just got back from a trip to Daytona Fl from my home in London Ont. Had to cross the border both times.No problems. Have had my tow behind trailer looked in but not too bad. Have been asked alot of questions but nothing too bad.
One thing to always think about for you Americans coming up here. It's one thing to be refused getting into my country,you can always go home, but I would be more worried about getting back into your own on the way home from here.Your own border guards are just as tuff or more so than ours.

Leave your guns at home. You are playing with fire if caught:

Gun is seized, no terms of release offered;
Vehicle is seized; terms of release cost big bucks;
Criminal charges laid. Most times it's a monetary penalty (no Bubba-time) but it's a criminal record. A record visible to both US and Canadian officers.

I checked my Smith model 60 at Gold Rush Pawn in Kalispell, MT before crossing the border.  Only cost me a couple bucks for them to hold it for me for a week.  Definitely don't bring any weapons with you, or make jokes about them - including pepper spray.  I had my Mace with me which I always carry, didn't know they are touchy about that too, good thing I wasn't searched. Though it sounds like there are specific circumstances when pepper spray is OK - I think you have to be going camping in bear country - which is pretty much everywhere in the wilds.  But check on that, don't take my word for it, if you plan to have pepper spray. I always carry a Buck model 110 folding hunter, and a Leatherman too.  The Buck might have caused a problem, according to some info I've read about their laws and interps of them. Our ride leader was wearing full leathers, slathered with veteran patches.  That really attracted attention from the guard - bad idea to wear stuff like that.  Read my write-up.

My cousin's wife is from Jacksonville Florida, but lives here in Canada, and she says that the US border always gives her a hard time when she goes back to the states.  She regularly goes to the US to shop since there are some products she gets there that is not available here and the cost is much cheaper.

NEVER carry a firearm into Canada from thr U.S. I did a Three Flags Classic trip one year with two Police Officer friends from California & they were able to check them in at the Canadian side of the border & get them back on their return trip. That was back in the 80's. They always have their forearms with them whether on ot off duty. This year they asked me & my wife for our passports in Canada...also when we came back to the U.S. This year I had to go inside the office before they would let me in tho. I have never been searched or had my siclke searched. Don't even take a knife with you to Canada. The border guards will ask you if you have any weapons with you. If you have one do NOT tell them you don't. It is really not too much hassle considering the way the world is today. Well worth visiting there.
