Anyone know of a real horn that can be mounted where the valk imaginary horn is mounted?  On that can be heard by a passing car with the windows rolled up and the driver on their cell phone???

thanks for all the input...
I got a pair of HiWay Blasters, Low and High, and a fused relay... Have not put them on the bike yet but I have tested them and they are SCARY LOUD..... A great $25.00 solution to a real problem on these bikes..   I am having a friend build 3 left side brackets, same but oposite of the stock right side bracket... 1 for me and 2 for buddies with Valks...  and we will all run them.  Thanks again for the input.  Pete

I have the Fiamm Hiway Blasters
Hi and low horns mounted on the original bracket on the right side and I used their bracket on the left side.
I used the original wiring to a relay and haven't had a problem.
These horns eliminate the problem with compressors for air horns.
Find a sound byte on someones website and listen to each brand of horns. You deffinately will not like many of them. But the original horns were embarassing.

And this:
"Place on Crossmember frame under Valkyrie where side stand adapter,
the bracket must against by the side stand adapter when tighten".   :D

Didn't someone mention that a junkyard car horn can be a direct but louder replacement?

Big BF's horns are actually car replacement horns.  I have his Quad setup.

I've made a few people go back home to change their undies.    One lady twice.

Yes, you could go to the junk yard and get a set of horns, but by the time you make the mounting brackets, you'd have about the cost of BigBF's quads.   His come ready to install.

The wife's  Toyota Highlander came with a Beep Beep horn, was like the Valk's original, no one could hear the damn thing.

We buy a lot of parts at the salvage yard for the shop, so I asked Nick, an employee at the yard we work with 99% of the time to find me something that would wake up a cell phone user.

I don't have a firkin clue what he got this pair of matched horns off of, but them suckers will wake up the dead.......

I pulled up to the Toyota service door and honked to get in.  All the service writers and the service manager came over and asked what the horns were off of.   Nick says he doesn't remember but thought it was a Chrysler product.  He said he just honked the horns in the lot and when he found these he took them off and stuck them on our parts shelf.

This is what I have had for eleven yrs without problem.
  Total cost maybe $10.

well the standard is such a POS.. I think 6 sould not help... they just dont have the DB's required to be heard...
Some folks recommended these... they are 130DB   which is only 2DB less than much more expensive solution so i am going to give them a shot....

This is inexpensive alternative. $19.99, 124 decibels compared to Stebel 139?  I think I will go look at them tomorrow.  Thanks for reminding me.

I put a stebel horn under the lower tripple tree between the forks an lowered the fender 3/4 '' so It would not hit.Now the sound is in the front like it should be.

Mr Whiskey

Haven't got them mounted yet but I've got a set of Dodge Dakota truck horns (2). Cost, $8 at my local pull-a-part. Can't wait to get them in. They are LOUD! Caint decide weather to put them under or in the pods.
Got too much stuff relay'd and tied direct to batt now. Gonna wait till I can afford a aux fuse box then mount the horns & new cig lighter.
Peace, Whiskey.

I have a pair of those on the Chevy Trike.   Been there 4 years and are getting to the point they only honk when they damn well please.    On the Trike or on the work bench.   Apparently they have gotten wet a time or two and they no like it.    Since I got the twin 18 and 15" air horns with a storage tank, I could care less if they work.    The air horns will wake them up 95% of the time.

Once in Florida, I put a blue hair in the ditch when she pulled out of Denny's or something along that nature in front of me.   I stopped, asked her if she was Okay? she said yes, you just scared the Bee Jesus out of me.    She asked if I'd help her get out of the ditch, told her NO, I think you need to learn how to drive before it is towed out.   She gave me a double finger and I went on down the road.

I installed a low tone model which sounds a like a real car horn.  Bolted to the stock location and the price is right.

I have one of these mounted to my handle bars.... It's a LOT louder than you would think.....130 db....of course I made some changes to it...LOL

blue=3 times
green=at least 4 times
When they are all 'green'.. I'll stop counting.

blackvalk

The sound byte in the 3rd response is only the low or high pitch.
You need a low and a high...........Now you have a great horn.
