redeye fuel filter

Anyone have a starvation problem running the filter that comes with the redeye fuel line replacement kit?

It doesn't seem that restrictive, which probably means its not as good at picking out the small particles,  mostly just worried about starvation

I've had that same filter on for quite a while, never had a starvation problem. A lot of riders have installed a quick disconnect system from Red Eye and used a filter inline like they offer. Some have experienced starvation as did a friend of mine, but when I looked at his installation is wasn't all running downhill from the petcock. You can't have any low spots in the fuel line or you'll have trouble, especially when the tank runs low.

Hello, I have both the redeye quickconnet and the inline fuel filter, I have had some problems with starvation. Not sure if is the curve in the quick connect or the fuel filter. Seems to happen when the tank gets low at highway speed in warmer weather.

I installed the quick connect and when running down the expressway I would have times I could not exceed 75MPH no matter how much throttle I gave it.  Removed it and all was fine again.

I installed quick disconnect, fuel filter and fuel line from redeye and when riding one day when it was hot out the fuel line kinked causing starvation (the bike, not me). Replaced fuel line with a longer line with a big U turn in the line and have had no issues since. The line goes toward the back of the bike out of the fuel shut-off with a gradual 180 so it won't kink, and then to the front to the disconnect, filter, and line to carbs. The hot weather will soften the rubber fuel line causing it to kink easier under the tank.

I bought a red eye set up last Feb or Mar, and used the plastic fuel filter they listed..I've ridden to Az, spent 5 wks there in temps around 105 degrees (or hot enough to have my grips fall off the bike) and have had NO problems with starvation up to 110 mph..don't know above that, since it's not where I ride..

I did have a problem with the o-rings splitting after a few tank dismounts, so installed a brass straight through and ordered new o-rings..which the dog got hold of and chewed up,,so still have the brass junction in there..may or may not re-order..
