I picked up my XD yesterday, so of course today I went to the range to put holes in paper.

it shoots nice, I'm not that great of a shot but, someone here said it would make me a better shooter. I believe that to be true.

I managed a couple of 2" groups  had some wild flyers too.

I shoot better with my beretta 9 mm but I've had that pistola for better then 25 years.

I love my XDM in 40. Might be a 45 in the future, depends on SANTA.

Tundra

It's a great pistol. The more you shoot it, the more you'll like it.
If you can't be a good example: be a WARNING!!

My shooting partner has both an XD9 and an XD40, both great shooting guns. I have been lusting for one of the new S&W E series .45's myself with the factory crimson trace grips.

xd 45 are great a bit big and heavy to Carrie concealed. if you are on the small side

Cool, I like to talk about guns.  I hear nothing but praise for the XD (m)... just keep practicing good fundamentals.

I have a buddy who wants a revolver, and is looking at this S & W Performance Center N-frame, 5" bbl, 8-shot .357.  With the Scandium alloy frame, it is lighter than a 4" stainless L-frame 686.  Too pricey for me, but he can afford it. (not a carry piece)

I have enough 1911s, but I really like the new Sig 1911 Scorpion in desert trim.

LOVE my XD 9 subcompact, but that short barrel is loud, plus the parkerized slide with the OD green frame looks cool!

I hear you guys about heavy. My USP.40 is big for a carry gun, though it used to be my primary. I also have a USP9 compact which is better, but still not small. I've been looking into maybe getting a Sig P230 or somesuch or maybe even my first wheelgun in a small-frame shrouded hammer S&W.

And Pup, who cares about loud. Hopefully the only person who'd complain about the sound won't live to.  ;)

Yes, it will make a better shooter of you. As one of the army pistol team told me one day....front sight, front sight, front sight!

I was losing focus today, serveral times lost my sight picture with both eyes open.

pause, take another breath and re-focus.

it's not going to be a conceal peice, it is abit bulky. not the sub compact it's the mid size fits my hand perfectly.

I fired about 50 rounds, like it alot  :cooldude:

Love my XD-40 service 4".  It would be nice if it was a bit smalller for CCW, since I'm a thin guy, but its positive attributes far outweigh (no pun intended) its weight and size for concealment.

For all of the big man bikers in here my woman unit carries a XD45.  She started out on my Glocks (G30/G21) but liked the XD better by design.

She knocks out the center target at 15 yards every time.

I heard a gal's testimonial on 'gun talk' with Tom Gresham. she used to carry a .357 revolver and moved on up to a XD .45. she gave her .357 to her boyfriend  :-*
