What are BB reproduction saddlebags?

Directline shows the OEM leather bags on their site.

At over $500.00 I think I'd just save alittle more and buy some OEM . Get a used set for Tourer or Interstate also watch E-Bay for Shadow Tourer bags they are the same as the Valkyrie.

I've seen alot of people that thought they were cool , but then again Lord I've seen alot of fools.

I didn't know about those.  They're waaay cool and are EXACTLY like the ones that were on my dad's old '58 sportster right down the black version with the silver and red emblem on the side of the bag.  Saaaweet.

However, I don't know anything about them and I have no idea if, or how they'd fit or look on a Valk except for the one pic on their site......and except for that one pic I've never seen a set mounted on a Valk.  They look kinda small-ish....not anymore bigger than a set of the OEM leather bags.

Joe has a good point though.....you can find used OEM hardbags but most I've seen go for around a grand or more with the mounts.  You can find them cheaper, but ya gotta look hard.

Have you looked at the Mustang hard bags?  They've got a very nice hard bag that's covered in a leather looking vinyl.  You can get them plain or with studs.  You can get the studded version for 700 online if you look.....the plain version cheaper.  They're slightly bigger than the OEM hard bags, cost less than used OEM hardbags and look great on a Valk.

I'm in the process of mounting a set now using my old OEM leather bag mounts that I'm modifying.

Does the price for the BB bags include mounting brackets & hardware? Regardless of the bag used the way they are mounted can make a big difference on how they work & look. It's really hard to beat the OE Honda bags & even more so the way they mount. Those BB bags do look kinda neat but a little out of place & smallish on a Valk. Just my opinion FWIW.
Even though I definetly would prefer OE Honda bags I opted for these National Cycle hardbags when I added bags to the '99. The mounting system is solid & even though I ditched the "quick disconnect" feature they still come off fairly quick & easy.
Pic of the NC CruiserLiner. on my '99 next to the OE's on Kim's Tourer.

They are slightly smaller than OE but they have a decent locking mechanism & don't leak! I think they fit the Valkyrie lines pretty well.

I picked these up like new used for $500 & paid $120 for the NC chrome mounting brackets. Less than $650 including the SS bolts I used to replace the Dzus fastener quick drop feature that sucked. I've seen several sets of these NC CruiserLiner hard bags for sale reasonable.  :cooldude:
Just another decently priced option to consider.  8)
'13 F6B black-the real new Valkyrie Tourer
'13 F6B red for Kim
'97 Valkyrie Tourer r&w, OLDFRT's ride now!
'98 Valkyrie Tourer burgundy & cream traded for Kim's F6B
'05 SS 750 traded for Kim's F6B
'99 Valkyrie black & silver Tourer, traded in on my F6B
'05 Triumph R3 gone but not forgotten!

Just to name a few other options and to give you something else to ponder.......

Champions are about as close to OEM's as one can get.  They're not cheap, but are almost a direct match to OEM's.

Then there is Tsukayu.  They look great on a Valk, come lined and have nice lock sets.

Then there is Mustang....the bags I'm currently mounting to my Valk.  I'm kinda partial to 'em.  It's good to note that the Mustang's are actually "Quick Release Strong" bags from Tsukayu that are covered by Mustang in their material.  They're a nice bag and they also come lined.

Tropic already mentioned National Cycle, but there are others too.....such as BossBags.....

and LeatherLyke.....
