It looked like the 18-wheeler truck driver was pretty darned good to recover from the skid and not jackknife that rig.  Jackknifed, it would not have mattered if the bobtail ahead had moved over and stopped - he would have still been clobbered!

The good thing about that climate is that there are surely plenty of snow shovels available. I'm sure one will come in handy cleaning out that car. I could just about use one here at my desk just from watching the video.

don't give the truck driver too much credit. he was passing into oncoming traffic and driving too fast for conditions.  if the trailer hadn't hit the guard rail he would have taken out both. just another case of a dumbass behind the wheel.

I don't normally open anything written in Russian, but consistant in my belief that Daniel is not a spy armed with the latest computer viruses, I proceded with the video.

I'm alarmed to report that I've seen a eerily similar sight before.  Only difference was, it was pouring rain, not snow.  I still don't know how the trucker managed to get his trailer back in line behind the tractor.  It's like I blinked, anticipating impact, and then the rig was magically barrelling by on my left, the air horn had such a chilling bellow.

In a parallel universe, I'm likely dead.

Thanks for cueing up my "post tramatic stress disorder."

I KNOW i'm sitting in front of my computer in my living room but that DID NOT prevent my butt from trying to chew holes in my office chair!! :2funny: :2funny: I was checking to make sure the jakes were on feathering the brake and getting ready to counter steer. :-X       Even had time to bend over and kiss my butt goodbye. :uglystupid2: Kinda want to check my blood pressure but i might blow the cuff out. :cooldude: RIDE SAFE.

The reason would be known if that guy was not following too close.
He has about a 1-1.5 second distance behind the truck and can't see ANYTHING on a wet surface. Not good.

The question is how many of us are looking down the road 8-12 seconds and actively playing the "what if" scenario on our Valks.  It is an easy defensive strategy that makes getting out of a jam possible before it gets scary and resulting in P factor.

I have seen good riders get into trouble because they were following too close and had no time to react to a situation that could not be seen until the last second.

Good luck trying to get "those stains" out of the drivers seat!!!!
