Looking for a radiator top cover

I am seeking a chrome top cover for the radiator my `99 tourer...  as well as a stainless hose cover.. I have searched everyhere on the `net,just can't seem to find one.. Life ain't so easy now that Rattlebars is gone...    Anyone know of a source?

Did anybody answer your question on the Stainless Steel slinky for your lower radiator hose? Just use an OEM part for a 2000 or newer GL 1500C's. They were all stock items.  Just changed mine out on  the 97 Valk and it looks much better.

Hi Guys

I'm going to be making a few top rad covers this month - they will cover a bit more than the skinny ones shown in the links (i.e the central mounting bracket as well).

Its a not for profit thing. I'm having a de luxe one made for me, as I wanted something a bit better than what's on offer, and will run a few off at cost for anyone interested. They will be polished stainless steel rather than plastic or chrome steel.

Can mail to the UK / US no problem.

Should have a photo soon when prototype is completed (I have an accessory company making them for me from a template from my 1997 Standard).

OK Folks.

The covers will be made out of polished stainless steel.  :)They will cover the top of the radiator and the central mounting / bracket, rolling over the front edge a little. No covering of the sides though.

At this stage I've made a cardboard template and sent it off to the workshop. They will send back and then I'll tweak to fit.

The workshop belongs to an established manufacturer.

If this goes well I'm planning a few other bits, including a cover for the front of the lower fork brace (mines a bit tatty now) with 'F6C' or 'Valkyrie' on it  - also stainless polished. If anyone can think of any other parts needed in a similar vein, let me know and I'll see what I can do.

I'm interested in making parts for my own bike, plus a few more to sell at cost. Then the templates can go to the manufacturer and they can have them for their parts portfolio for free    - that way everyone gets to benefit and there are more bits out there for Valks. When a bike's this old I guess its the way to go - if you can't find it - do it yourself.


Bear with me - it will take a few weeks - I'll post pics as we go.

Also Dolores - the Fat Lady  - is due a photo shoot next week, after some new suspension and other parts - so I'll post that too.

I've been wanting to fabricate a small cover for the starter as an alternative to the transmission covers that some people are using.  I wanted to have it mount to the two existing starter bolts.



Also, you may want to entertain the idea of coming up with some type of "cover" replacement for the alternator that wants to bubble up over time. It's currently a chrome covered piece of plastic.

Thoughts/ Comments ??
