Anybody had any experiences with vendors deplating chrome and rechroming parts? My timing belt cover is looking sad and needs to be cleaned up. Any idea of costs? A new one is about $400 from Honda.  :-\

Also I know this cover is aluminum, has anyone removed the chrome from their cover then polished it?

I had mine rechromed about 6 years ago.  Turned out as good as original.  I think it cost me 200 but we pay through the nose for everything here in Canada.

These folks can do it. I wouldn't speculate on cost, but they are reasonable. They have done excellent work for me, and they are one of OCC's primary platers. You might want to give them a call.

Damn thing gives me the grins every time I get on it!

Met these guys at GoodGuys this Fall, they have a new shop after the Nashville flood. I think they have great looking stuff.

Looks like they are offering plastic chroming also.
