As in Amateur Radio Operators, installing or have installed a mobile rig on the IS or any other Valk? I am going to, just looking for guidance from those that have specificly done a GL1500CF, not a Goldwinger that says "Hey! This oughta work!"
I have looked at and emailed Kennedy Technologies about parts, but they aren't to up on what is what with regard to differences between GL1500s and GL1800s and Valks.

Personal question for my brain-housing group - is there a difference between the GL1500 wings and the Valk electrical harness, especially the intercom/radio/CB harness and connectors?

What I am after doing is installing a Yaesu FTM-10R (very popular weather restistant rig) using as much of the stock connectors as I can and the existing PTT switch. My Valk has no CB.

Ideas and relevent information is what I am looking for!

The Valk IS is wired for the CB, you just need the hardware to plug in. The GW has this also. Are the 2 harnesses interchangable, I would say no. Could they be adapted, yes. Would you want to, no.

You can and should ba able to do anything you want. As long as you have the time, brains, money and will, to do it. The manual should have the info on the plugs (2, 3, 6, 9 pins), vintage connectors should have the plugs, and also the wiring connectors and what they do.

Can you post more about the radio you wish to use?
I am curious as I work work an emergency operations center and I'd like to consider the same.

Like Gordon has said, all the tech detail is there, you shouldn't hav too much of an issue integrating the radio.

I am planning on installing a Yaesu FTM-10R in the space where the CB would be, and I am hoping to use the existing PTT lever on the control head, if ony because it is there and never has been used and I would rather not add SOMETHING ELSE to my handlebar area.

There are quite a few GWs I am finding that have extra radios on the bike, and I know there is plenty of support for my project, I was just sorta hoping the connectors would be something a company like Kennedy Tech has dealt with and put into a kit. See what I get for hoping!

I know the Valk is wired for the CB, was hoping that like quite a few other things, the electrical connections would be the same as the GW in an effort to save money, but I guess that is  wishful thinking.

I've learned that my 99' ACE Tourer uses a 3.5mm bullet connector, not the standard 4mm in a car.

Wish I could figure out how to link to their pictures, but go there and you'll see all those different style connectors.

You all are right, I had forgotten that all the wiring for the Valk is pretty well documented - I am just going to have to buckle down, look up and trace out the plug pins I need and make my own harness. Of course no two installs of ANYTHING on a Valk can be the same, right?
