Poor girl wanted to go for a ride since she's been cooped up for a month....a Park Ranger pulled me over at the top of the mountain on hwy 75 above Helen.....he told me I was doing 65 in a 35mph zone.... :o ....in my defence, we were fighting 30-40mph wind gusts...y'all know how weak the old girl is climbing mtns and such...I think those winds became tailwinds and pushed me over the limit....  :-\ .....he just gave me a verbal warning,  checked my license, told me to slow down and sent me on my way......I had pulled over for him very quickly, was polite, and he was too....first warning I've had on the bike....took less than 10 mins total...... :cooldude:

I'm still a 100 miles from home with some good roads to get back on....she better behave this time...

there are SEVERAL really good roads into Helen.....it's just HELL riding through the MIDDLE of town.....I always take some of the side streets to get around town.....and I RARELY ever go to the middle of town.....too many Hardley posers sitting around swilling cold ones at the several bars around town..... :cooldude:

230 miles of smiles today......had wind gusts from 15-40mph all day long....was dodging limbs and trash in the road....not so bad except when it's in a blind curve.....

Got to eat at two of my favorite places and had a DQ ice cream in between.....and burnt up a tank of old gas(got to keep the fresh stuff in it)..... :cooldude:

I almost rode over there today.  My wife had recent shoulder surgery and can't ride hers yet, so we stuck around Dahlonega in the cage all day.  I did get to ride over Blood Mountain and then cut across to Helen and back home to Dahlonega a couple of days ago.  It was windy today though, that's for sure...

I like to poke around Dahlonega.....and ride Hwy 60, 180, 129......those roads are some of the best we have in Georgia......

Let me know if you ever want to meet and go ride some of them...... :cooldude:

when i was coming back from Maggie Valley last summer i was riding through chicago, just past Elgin, was by my self going through a bunch of construction when i went through a toll and got up next to a real nice Ferrari.  i sped up to check it out, so did he..... i was going about 75 just after the construction zone when i realized that on the "on" ramp sat three cop cars lined up to catch speeders exiting the construction zone!  i thought CRAP!  i pulled over into the far right lane, saw the cop coming up real fast behind me, turned on his lights then PASSED me to stop the red pick up truck that had just passed me!!!!  boy was i happy i didn't get caught!!
