DOES ANYONE KNOW THE VICKSBURG, MS - YAZOO CITY, MS AREA?

I am planning a ride for our group from baton rouge la.  to Yazoo City around the beginning of april and am looking for someone who's from that area or perhaps knows the area. looking for info on good scenic roads as well as lodging information preferably a mom n pop motel that could accomodate a group of approx 15-20 ppl.
Natchez trace would be the majority of the ride but there are lots of other scenic/twisties in the area. msg me or email me. thanks
