I am considering repainting one of my Interstates to the Black/Dark Pearl Red which was found on the 2001 IS.  I would rather not buy the stripe kit for the tank, fairing, saddlebags and fender.  Can someone take a look at their bike and tell me what the color of the stripe is that separates the Black from the Dark Pearl Red?  If you have a closeup photo of the fuel thank that would be great!

Thanks,
Jim

Thanks, I had actually seen a couple of those photos before.  Does it appear to you that the stripe is gray in color?  From what I can tell from the photos, the stripe is the same on the gas tank and the saddlebags.  I assume it is the same on the fenders and the fairing...

I have that color Interstate, it is a grey metallic flake stripe.  It is the same color on the bags and fairing. I can take some pics of tank and email if ya need em. Let me know. It is the rarest of the U.S. colors.

Thanks that answers my question.  It seems that both of the 2001 2-tone colors are rare (Dark Pearl Red and the Pearl Beige) since it was the only year of production for either one.

In my personal opinion the Dark Pearl Red is most appealing of the 2-tone Interstate colors, with the Pearl Beige following close behind.  That having been said, the solid black and chrome look is pretty hard to beat though!

Can someone post a pic of the dark red color?
Thanks
