Airhawk Question

Has anyone tried the newer Airhawk R?  Supposedly, has redesigned cels, more protection for the "boys", etc.  Thinking about getting one as my butt's padding is decreasing (actually, heading to my waist).

I have a 2.5 year old Airhawk and really like it on the 500+ mile days.  Heck, I use it on 200+ days.  If there is a "new and improved" version, it's gotta be good!

FYI, I have Mustang seats.

My Airhawk made an Ultimate Lowboy comfortable.     Nuff said!

Roho's original AirHawk line is constructed of heavy duty neoprene rubber bladders and carry a two year warranty.  The cheaper AirHawk 2 is constructed of a lighter duty plastic mix with a one-year warranty.

I don't think the newer 2's have any difference in basic design.  The amount of air you use can be adjusted to suit your boys.  (and where you place it on the seat). 

I learned the biggest no-no is slamming down onto the cushion and blowing out a vulcanized side seam which is not repairable, regardless of model.  A week or two past warranty, and they told me to buy a new one.

Thanks for all the feedback.  I purchased the Airhawk R and will give a report on it once it's got a few miles on it. 

Jess - The Airhawk R has the neoprene rubber with the 2 year warranty - it's just a newer design.  Never considered the Airhawk 2.

Now there will be 2 airbags on my valk.

Sorry, I missed the "R" and it isn't even carried on the website I use to buy them.  The R does look like a better design with tailbone and boys cutouts and better airflow.  I would bet the R would go great with the Ultimates low and big boy seats with the raised fronts.

I had the old style many-smaller-air-bubbles first, and the newer style less-but-much-bigger-bubbles was a great improvement.
