WOW!  :cooldude:
Just installed a set this morning and took my first test ride.
Previously, I could tell when I was going 70 mph or greater by how much helmet buffeting I was experiencing.  :D
Now that I have the Air Wings, I was cruising almost 90 mph with no helmet buffeting what so ever, gone! (at any speed I tried) :cooldude:
I have been trying to get rid of the buffeting at higher speeds by going to a larger windshield, tipping the windshield forward/backward, etc. and nothing seemed to help.  :tickedoff:
Should have listened to Smokin Joe & Detn8er's advice earlier "I wouldn't ride to the mailbox without Baker Air Wings".  :cooldude:
Definitely not the prettiest add-on I've made to the fat lady, (kinda ugly actually, IMO) but works great.
One of the best accessories I've put on the bike to date, love how they work.
Just passing along my experience, no affiliation with Baker, etc.

Yep! I had my Bakers "dealer installed" when I picked up my Valk 14 yrs. ago. I have never ridden a Valkyrie without Bakers, but I know that I like 'em. They are a perfect example of "function over form".  :cooldude:

I put some on my 99 ct in Sept. 1999.  I thought I would use them in the cooler months and take them off in May.  Still on her.

Easily the best investment I have made as far as add ons on the Lady

Now if we just had an aerospace engineer that could design a fairing that could accomplish the same feat and flow with the rest of the bike I would be the first customer.

There is.  Woodys fairings.....

And if you add the Freedom Wings, you've got total air management.

And then if you add one of Fastaire's Aero windshields, you'll be able to take up smoking while you ride.

I'm checking this out on your recommendation, and I believe I understand that this set up is the equal or better than air wings not in addition to air wings?  I am sold that Woody's makes a quality fairing but I was hoping to get away from the "batwing look" when I did buy a fairing.

Picked up set last year and love 'em.  They are really great in the summer too blowing engine heat away from your legs.

In addition to the Bakers.

I put a set of Bakers on my Valk right after I got her.  Rode like that untill this winter when I put my Woodys with the Freedom wings on.  Right after I put the Woodys on, I bought the 10" Aero shield and tried that instead of just the regular 10 shield.  Great for winter riding.

For the summer, I just put a short 4" shield on.....and plan to ride this summer with the Freedom wings along with the Bakers to direct as much air across me as I want/need.

Right now, the bike is stripped down and I'm putting it back together this week.  Here's what it looks like as of today......

For me, the Bakers make the bike......and now with the Woodys, freedom wings and choice of cheap windshields, it's the best of everything IMHO.

The freedom wings WILL hit on the upper bakers.  They haven't been a problem as I've been watching my radius when turning and such, but they WILL hit.  So far, they've just flexed when hitting and no damage has incured.....yet.

I'm planning on cutting down the uppers some to illiminate that issue......but I'll still leave the uppers on.

Overall though, the hitting/touching as been a non-issue for me.

I have no doubt that the Bakers work, never have heard a complaint over their function. I am just looking for a more streamline look.

Flat6lover.

Why you feel they are ugly, is it the color? If it is the color, give Daryl @ FX6 a call, he has them made up in polished stainless, I think they look much better.

I think they just take away from the great looks of the engine, sorta cluttering it up, but maybe they'll grow on me since I'm not taking them off.

Chiefy

One of my half helmets buffeted all the time (well, over 50mph) and was really bad on a windy day.  Now I can stop it with just the top section of my Bakers.  The price made my anal orifice pucker, but they work, which is the bottom line.

On the interstate model of bakers you can take off the inside piece which I do in the hot weather
to get more air moving

if you do so put them in the saddle bag in a microfibre towel  That way if you will be riding in the rain any distance its just a minute to put them back on you will stay much drier

Otherwise I agree with all the + comments on the bakers

I had a set briefly... they were so ugly the earth was repelling my Valk and it thought it was a helicopter for a while.  I had to sell them.
