So I guess I need a relay for each side to hook up the blinker buddy?
I have a 99 IS.  I thought there would be a single flasher for both sides that I could hook up directly to, like in a car, but I don't see one.

Mine hooked directly between the orange and blue wires. No relays should be needed.
Damn thing gives me the grins every time I get on it!

So one side of the buzzer hooks to the orange and the other to the blue?

I wonder where it's getting the ground?

Well, you are correct...it works perfectly w/o relays.  Must be a secret ground wire somewhere.

When one side is hot, the other is not.
The vibrator operates off the difference between the two.
So each side sometimes as acts as a quasi ground, even though its not.

If you want to use a proper ground, then you can use two small diodes. One for each signal wire, tied together and connected to one side of the vibrator. The other wire goes to ground. This way you can add a small relay triggered by your brake light.

With the brake light triggered relay, when you have the brake on, the blinker buddy looses it's ground line, stopping buzz bottom while stuck in intersections!

Good luck

Glenn
ps. I have done this on my Interstate and it works nicely. :cooldude:
The tragedy of life is not that it ends so soon, but that we wait so long to begin it.

Thanks Glenn,
Great explanation..........a pseudo ground!
I will see how bothersome the buz butt is b4 installing the diodes and relay but that sounds like a very good setup.
