Well a little foam, a little fiberglass and a lot of work, this is what I got.

My spring project was a new single wheel trailer for the bike, started off with a foam and wood plug and built from there. I still have to put the red stripes on to match the bike. My painter was loaded up, so I went with a rattle can paint job. Will get it repainted next year. A couple months work, but I am satisfied with how it came out.

It is all home built, only thing I purchased was the wheel, tire and swingarm. Hinges etc all made in the shop, was hard to find just what I needed, so made my own.

Where'd ya get the running gear and front end parts at? The hitch and bar look like they came off of a Uni-Go.

Swing arm was from a Honda xr50, but has been highly modified, wheel was a 10in Chinese scooter. The tongue I made, bent the tube found a u-joint with a 4 bolt flange. Coupler etc was all made here. Would not buy any thing from Uni-go, too damm expensive. Bottom line, total I have less than $400 total in materials. I do have a complete machine shop at the house, helps a lot.

The only problem I see with it it doesn't have a car tire on it. All I see is one of those dinky mc tires.

Jokes aside, well built little trailer and it looks like it would haul a lot of items. You could load it 1/2 full and on trips pick up little items to make the SO happy, that is if you have one.

I know my wife could fill a trailer on her own if I'd let her on trips. We used to start out 1/2 full, and a box of clothes sent to our destination, motel or family. When we got there all of our dirty clothes were sent to our daughters house.

Still trying to get him to go, he thinks he may be cut from his job at Met-Life. If so he gets a year severance, says he will go if that happens. Don't want to see him lose his job, but really enjoy his company on long trips.

Yep, checked with the Florida DMV, have to tag it. Sucks as it only weighs 76 lbs. At least I get a motorcycle size plate for it. I am going to put some miles on it and make sure it handles properly, if so, I will be taking it to Inzane.

Helped do a kayak once. I believe you just start dipping the fiberglass mesh in the resin and laying it over the mold. Laber intensive. Once you get it covered fully thick enough you sand the finish and paint. We did the kayak in 2 halves and then fiberglassed them together. I assume he just cut the foam plug out. This is a simplification of the steps but the basics of what my poor brain remembers. Hoipfully Grumpy will give us more details.
