I loved mine on the 1800 'wing, but no one makes a vent for the MS Batwing.  This is an experiment in squeezing a 1500 'wing vent into a shield with different curvature and thickness.  I got the bottom to marry pretty well.  The top is going to need some work.  Not sure if 1) pookie will suffice, 2) a router will be required, or 3) an 1800 vent would have fit better. 

Oh, and still waiting for the return phone call from Memphis Shades...

My last windshield came with one , on  my standard, kept sheild from fogging in the rain and really a good pressure regulator.. I miss it ,, ebayer??

Not so far.  The ol' put the hand on top of the windshield does more to take the wind/noise out of the helmet's front top vent.

I would never do that, but the issue at the top is that the front flange/escutcheon is intended to snap over the top of the rear section.  The additional thickness and different curvature of the MS shield prevents that.      ...the origin of the router idea...

Yes.  Add On does not sell direct.  One must purchase from one of their dealers, so I went eBay + PayPal + free shipping... 

By opening the vent, I can increase significantly the amount of wind on my chest, neck, and face, and that will be handy when it's terribly hot and I need some evaporation.  However, at this point, the fully opened vent comes with a whistle - the origin of the pookie idea. 

The partly or fully opened vent does seem to increase any laminar flow up the backside of the windshield.

The vent supplies a steady blast of air to your chest; for me, it doesn't cause any buffeting and doesn't modify any that is already present.

This is an experiment in squeezing a 1500 'wing vent into a shield with different curvature and thickness.

Mine is installed in a Clearview Windshield and fits perfectly but I have no idea what they did (pookie?) to get it to fit that way.

I gave my vent a close look tonight, no pookie to be found but it has a loose fit around the bottom. It doesn't whistle.

Heck, with the vent under the windshield on the IS, I get a whistle about 70.  That's why I either ride 65 or 75. 

I can put 2 fingers over the middle of the vent and it stops.  So, I could fix it with a small piece of tape from the under side.

I fill the IS vents with foam to keep the bugs out, then forget to take it out in 100* summer.

That fairing looks good.I had an ultra wiht one.It was way heavier due to the sound system,cb,etc.

Me too!  I've got some real thin foam that lets air through but keeps the bugs out and the inside of the windshield  clean.

Thanks.  It's a Memphis Shades batwing with 12"(?) light smoke windshield.  No integral electronics - just two pieces of plastic along with some mounting hardware.
