John Schmidt

Hi Everyone,

Well today ends my time with Dad and Rita. As I will miss them terribley, I am sooo excited to go home and see my family and sleep in my own bed. I've managed to get myself a nice upper resperatory infection that's found a home in my right ear. This will make flying fun. UGGGHHHH!

Dad has been so touched by the out pour of well wishes and good blessings from everyone. He's so thankful for each of you and all the support. The last package containing his Inzane tshirt and cards brought him to tears. He said, "be sure to post a huge thank you for dad will ya". Who ever bought the card about the staff being happy for him to go home, you hit the nail right on the head. I added a separate note, "IF THEY ONLY KNEW". Dad tends to give more then just a simple yes or no. Poor nurses is all I'm sayin'.

As far as dad goes. He's not doing very well at the time. He was diagnosed with a Heporin allergy from all that they gave him during surgery. This finding resulted in the dr's starting him on blood thinners. Before this finding dad was getting stronger, walking, eating well, and heading down a good path to a full recovery. Once they started him on the coumadin he just went down hill. He's really struggling with nausea, back pain (kidney area), shoulders, and headaches. He's been given some pretty strong meds for the pain. They are probably going to put a feeding tube back in because he's not eating and hasn't for just under 2 days now. It kills me to leave with him so sick. Please continue to keep dad and Rita in your prayers and ask that what ever I have Rita isn't affected. That's all she doesn't need right now.

As far as visitors go ~ I think we need to hold off just a bit till I get the ok from Dad. Thanks for understanding.

Thank You so much everyone,
Toni

John, ya'll quit playin around and get on the mending track.

Prayers and thoughts to everyone involved.

You take care of yourself also Toni.   That is what caused me to lose my hearing in my right ear right after my bypass.    Don't wish that on anyone.

Thank you, Toni, for the update.  John did a great job raising his daughters.  A man couldn't hope for a better legacy than that.

I'm sorry to hear of the recent direction of John's progress.  We will certainly continue to remember him in our prayers.  We do love him.  Of course that's in a masculine, motorcycling, brothers in the wind sort of way.   :)
