Just wondering what an Interstate fuel tank should sell for.
How much would you be willing to pay before you said "That's too much"?
No, I don't have one for sale. I'm considering getting one and am wondering what their going for and how much $$ it would take before you would consider it to be over priced.
I know about the belly tanks and that their probably cheaper. But I got my mind stuck on an I/S tank, and besides, could always add the belly tank later if 7 gallons wasn't enough, although I imagine my backside would tend to be a better judge of that than I would be! Couldn't imagine doing 350 miles in one shot.  :D

I would say no more than $700 in good shape.

Well, their 1180. new, and not sure if Mother Honda has any more left. I have an Interstate with a standard tank on it. When mine got damaged beyond repair,(long story) I found that they were a premium. I just saw one on ebay for 599.00 dented and scratched. I will NOT pay some silly price for a tank. I'd duct tape a gas can on the bike first :cooldude:

jack is right on as far a price goes. a little lower right now because prices are always depressed in Aug. Sept. on ebay.
350 miles is NOTHING if your going 125 Mph  :D

Got a good deal at $400 including the shipping a few years back.  Then another $350 to paint it but I had to supply the paint.  I also got a free t-shirt from the paint seller, which made it all seem worth it.

BF

It's worth whatever you're willing to pay for it.

I have found that these odd rare parts sell really fast when you don't do your homework. I had a pair of chrome front disc covers that I put on here for $50. I had no sooner finished the post when I got a call and an email. They continued for the next hour until I removed the post as sold. One guy said that they were worth about $200 or so.

That seems high to me for a stamped steel chromed part but that is just me.

Now I am wondering what kind of goldmine I have in this Valk. I traded a 1999 HD Heritage Softail Classic with only 1700 miles on it for this....Long story but friend bought new and parked it after the 1st year. I bought it for $5000 for the trade value of it and traded for a Valk to a guy that wanted to go back to his HD.

This thing came with three exhausts, stock, 2 Brothers 6 in 6, and Cobra 6 in 6. All the chrome you could ever want covering everything with lots of dragons all over, A set of fwd controls were in a box not installed because he couldn't reach them (installed now and I LOVE them). A box had two stock seats in it. Another box had the rear IS fender, rails and trunk bracket. Another was misc parts, wind deflectors and other things the previous owners (2) had tried. Also all of the other non chrome pieces after the chrome parts were put on. It has the interstate bags and rails on it, Ultimate seats and backrests etc. In other words I stole it for the trade I did last year.

I guess the value of something is up to what the seller and the buyer think it is along with the scarcity of the item. Again..... I did not do my homework. If almost all of your stuff you post sells in less than 4 hours......Your prices are too low.

I paid $600 for mine, last April. It is rust free, no scratches and painted black. Have to add cap and badges and pingle and fuel gauge. If I had it to do over I would have bought an I/S and super valked it, or belly tank.

I sold a perfect one - black + badges + sending unit - to a friend for $800.00 earlier this year.  No filler cap or petcock, but no quibbling, either.

Monkymate, don't feel too bad. I sold the IS CB (entire set up) here for $400 shipped. I checked
my email 30 min later and had 4 people asking how I wanted to be paid.

I knew I could have easily gotten more, but as with several other items I've sold on the board,
I consider it payback. Just about everything I know about Valks was learned here.

Wow, the 99 Interstate Tank w/filler cap, sending unit and petcock I was bidding on just sold for $1,065.00 ! :o
Not to me though. For that kind of $$$, I could get the Belly Tank, and a lot of other things for the Valk to boot!! But, it sure would have been nice to have a Fuel Gauge though. Here in Kansas, MPH may vary alot, depending on which way the wind is blowing. But then again, with that full size Hondaline Windshield acting like a sail, a good stiff Kansas tailwind could just double your mileage, ;D , but only if your headed north as the really good stuff is almost always out of the south!
Ahh, well. Valk parts. The hunt is half the fun!
