I received 2 thank you notes today addressed to the VRCC, so I wanted to share them with you.  This is the first one.

"Dear Valkyrie Riders,

On behalf of Special Olympics, Arkansas-Area 2, I would like to extend our most sincere appreciation to your club and its members  for your fundraising efforts and donation to our local Special Olympics program.  I apologize that I was not able to be in attendance, however Jennifer and Rachal filled me in on each day's festivities and we were all overwhelmed with your hard work and dedication to raise funds for our athletes.

Our goal for the coming year will be what it has always been, to cotninue offering Olympics style athletic training and competition opportunities for the children and adults in our community with intellectual disabilities, completely free of charge.  At the same time, continue to spread awareness about our program and increase the number of participants who take part in it.  Because of your fundraising efforts and donation to our program, we can reach and exceed that goal.

Thank you again for your support of our program.

Sincerely,
Donna Kilmer
Field Representative - Areas 2&3
Special Olympics Arkansas"

The second note is from Rachal and Jennifer.  They are the two area co-directors that attended some of our events.

"Thank you so much for a wonderful week for special Olympics.  We had such a great time with all of you.  Your donation will assist us in implementing fottball, swimming and more.  The difference you made in our community has been amazing and we are forever grateful.

Grumpy

Life is like a hot bath. It feels good while you're in it, but the longer you stay in, the more wrinkled you get.

I wish I had moved sooner on this, but recent activity kinda got in the way. I have a seat set that has been recovered in what appears to be tan Naugahyde. Although I couldn't attend the rally, I wanted to send it along with one of our Fla. riders to auction off and donate to the cause. By the time I was able to talk to anyone, InZane was in full operation and was too late.

I've tried selling it 2-3 times to no avail so figured this would be a good place to let it go. If anyone has a suggestion as to what to do with it, I'd be grateful. Maybe Admin. could set up a bid process(just a thought) and instead of paying me, send the final purchase amount to them. Although not perfect, they are very useable. The pillion has a couple depressions in it where the prior owner stored it with the backrest pad pressing on it. The depressions haven't punctured the material, just don't look good. I'd only ask for shipping costs at the end.

Yep, we are a rough bunch...    :coolsmiley:

And for those who missed it the first time, here's the one from the Chief of Police.

Lori,

I just want to say thank you again to the entire Valkyrie club.  They were without a doubt the best group of people who have ever visited this town and not one group has ever left such a good impression on the community as they did.  The community spirit and acts of good will they displayed were a lesson to us all.  We look forward to seeing you all again, as a group or individuals.

May all of your roads be full of curves and safe!
