Clearview Tourer windshield

Those of you who have replaced your stock "Tourer" windshield with the Clearview, were you able to use the same bolts through the chrome or did you need to go with longer bolts?

I remember having to scrounge for longer bolts when I added the thickness of the
hoppe fairing, but not the clearview...

I used the oem bolts. probly would need longer if you have a windshield storage pouch.  Hoser

If you're simply doing a direct swap, all the OEM hardware should work.  I can't recall any issues when I installed the Clearview.  Terry

Get some half-inch longer bolts to assemble the trim hardware on the Clearview shield. Once its in place remove one bolt at a time and replace with the short chrome OEM bolt.

 i have 22.5 " Clearview that was on bike when I got it.  Has vent and i like the shield a lot.  Here is quote from their website that seems to indicate it fits on stock frame.

How is the vent working?

I have the 22.5 Smoked vented screen.  Used OEM bolts.  Love the vent, it really helps with air flow dynamics especially when riding in windy conditions.

I have the shortest windshield they make with the vent and had no problem at all with the installation I started in the middle and worked out from there

I put a Clearview on my '98 Valk Tour and had no problems with any bolts. It fit just like the factory windsheild.

The 6mm-1 bolts and acorn nuts are used on the windshield.  The nut can accept the bolt turned in about 7 revolutions or going in 7mm.  I would use bolts that require no less than 4 revolutions going into each nut, 6 revolutions would be ideal.  Use loctite.  I'm thankful for my pedestal grinder to get bolts, etc the right length.   

I have replaced my windshield once and next time will try the Clearview.
I did exchange the windshield nuts to chrome high-crown acorn nuts and put those on the front of the windshield (bolts go in the back and are hidden by windshield bags).  These nuts provide somewhat of a sinister look.

I never thought of acorn nuts as being more "sinister" than the stock washer/hexhead chrome bolts.
