My buddies & I, (Harley Riders) - (I have the Valk) somebody got to be the sweeper for them Harleys - are planing a trip to Arkansas this October. We are leaving from Houston and planing on going to Harrison, AR. We want to do the Moonshine Run - The Peel Ferry - Bulol Shoals Dam - The Mountain View Run and Eureka Springs ...... Got all that mapped out. My question is What's the best way to get from Houston, TX to Harrison, AR. Don't really want to take Highway all the way - but also don't want to take 3 days to get there. Does anybody out there have some GPS coordinates or map for a good route ??

Thanks

Check on the Texas VRCC Board. I bunch of us just made that trip last month. You will get plenty of answers there.    :cooldude:

I lived in Houston for 9 years and my grandparents lived in Booneville, Ar.  I used to ride up there some. I'd to go to Texarkana up 59 (that part is pretty boring) then on up 59/71 (nice ride) through western Ark to Ft Smith, then I'd go east on I-40 to Clarksville and take hwy 21 north through the Ozark National Forest, turn off a ways up on Hwy 43 on into Harrison.

I used to explore a lot of the back roads and I remember very distinctly the theme song from Deliverance playing in the back of my mind as I'd ride through some of the little backwoods towns... as the often toothless, barefoot and overall clad inhabitants would glare at me as I'd pass.   >:(   I'd be thinking, "Oh Lord, please don't let me break down or have a flat here."

I resemble that remark!  :cooldude:
