Is NASA hunkering down or did they shut it down and let the Ruskies run the show for a while?

We shut down Thursday morning.  I think there's a skeleton crew at mission control, but I'm sure the Ruskies have main control for now.

Where are you and Stephanie now?  How's your house?  Put you in my prayers.

We're all in Austin with Stephanie's folks.  We're safe, but the house is an unknown.  The city of Seabrook seems to be handling this the worst of all the towns in the area.  Even Galveston is letting people in, and giving out more information.    I'm very frustrated by the city's (lack of) actions.  I hope to go back tomorrow to assess what needs to be done with the house.  I don't know how wet is is, or even if it's still there, for that matter.

I've been watching TXCN and it's showing Channel 11 news from Houston.  Looks like you can't get into Galveston and wouldn't want to with no power, water, sewer or anything.  Flooding seems to be a problem even on the highways and power is down for a lot of people, so stay in Austin and wait.  My boys came up from College Station and Waco on Friday but headed back this morning for classes on Monday.  I know they made it to Waco but haven't heard from #2 who was heading to A&M.

They are in my car because they had engine problems coming up Friday but kept driving anyway and destroyed the engine.  I had to take my container truck (which is almost a wrecker) and hoist the car up on the bed and brought it back to Arlington, where our mechanic confirmed the verdict the engine was gone Saturday.  So, getting that fixed and they have my car.  Ugggh..

But my problems are far less than yours and hope the house is OK when you get back.

The answer to your original question:

http://www.nasa.gov/offices/eoc/home/index.html

The response to your concerns about returning:
It really sucks sitting here helplessly.  I have a strong urge to get back home and at least KNOW what we're looking at, and at best get to work on cleaning up.
