She sat in the garage since Friday nite. Fired right up when I drove her in and parked her. This morning....nothing. No headlights, no click-click...nothing. Taking the battery to the local parts store for a check to see if it's dead or alive. Since I brought her home she hasn't hesitated to turn over and fire right up....until this morning.

Just back from the store. Battery was showing 4 volts. They are gonna charge it and load test it for me. Noticed that my LED accent lighting was on this morning. If it's been on since Friday night (grandbaby playing with the remote control) that might have something to do with it.

Thanks tank...will check that advanced coupon right now.

Yeah...my fault entirely... load test showed just over 12 volts charged and less than 200 CCA. New battery time.

I'm still waiting for my 5 or so year old Yuasa battery to fail.  With my luck recently,  it will fail at the least opportunistic moment in the middle of nowhere.  I guess time to get my legs in shape to push start the beast and run alongside in neutral, hop on bike, and pop the clutch in 2nd gear?  Had to do this once on my 1984 honda magna but it was like 200lbs. lighter and I'm now 80lbs. heavier and 20 years older.  :o

I changed my OEM battery when it was 11 years old. It never did go bad, just started makin' me nervous.

It doesn't make sense.

Spend all kinds of money wastefully on non-important junk for the bike,

But a new battery every so often?

Seems like some priorities are poorly placed.

I agree.  If your battery has already lasted 5 years or more, assume that it's a good one and gonna last another 5 years, and instead spend your money on some important high-quality accessories instead:
