I stayed in Grand Lake, Colorado last Sunday night, and on Monday morning my Valk had frost on the seat...

I'm not ready for winter yet!

Red Diamond

Not bad, a couple years ago a friend and I took a trip to Colorada leaving Texas in the middle of September, temps in the upper 80's. (Colorada Springs, Gunnison, Hotchkiss, Grand Junction, Durango, Chama, NM, Santa Fe, Albuquerque) woke with frost on the seats every morning, I forgot to bring a cover. We for the most part, started our day rides at about 6AM, that was really cold for us at 40-45 deg.

If you are riding  and it is a must that you keep your eyes on the road, you are riding too fast.

I had the heater on in the truck this morning.  68 degrees.
I called the wife to let her know I'm a sissy.

It got all the way down to 62 the other morning.  Had to wear my jacket on the way home.   :D

Same here in WI,  suppose to be tomorrow night low of 43 degrees.  Still might be taking cycle to work coming home around 11-12 p.m.  with shorts on still but with a sweatshirt and gloves.  Still not going to give up my shorts for the season until October.  I ride until my turn signals stop working while riding home at night which last year was well into November with highs in the upper 40's at best.  I draw the limit when it reaches below 40 degrees though, don't like my teeth chattering.

Valkorado

34 in Gunnison Colorado last night.  Can't wait to get out while the getting is good a little later today; the fall colors are coming into peak in some parts of the state.  At least I have heated gear, a Western Colorado necessity.  I hope to do another desert excursion before I have to put the Fat Lady into hibernation.  Moab or the 4 Corners area always sounds nice this time of year.  I ask myself why I live here each fall, and remember the reasons every spring.  Still, this winter will be rough as I got my Valkyrie in early August.  I'm praying for an extended Indian Summer!

Several years ago we rode out to Yellowstone at this very same time of the year....

Work up in the morning in Jackson the day we were to go into the park...

1 inch of snow on the bikes ( I have a pic someplace but it one of those old fashioned print things)....

There was 6-10 inches overnight in the East park entrance/pass that night......

After we had breakfast, the snow was gone and by the time we got to the pass at 6PM it was clear.....

It was in the 40's at the top of the pass at that time......  about 30 minutes later as we got to the bottom of the pass on the way to Cody it was over 80 and we had to stop and lose some clothes and leather!

Dontcha love this time of year!!!!
