I left Denver Saturday morning, headed south to meet up with Whooray and some fellow riders in Colorado Springs. Our group headed out on Hwy 115 to Penrose Colorado, rode through Canon City and headed north on Hwy 9. Followed High Park Rd toward Cripple Creek.

You can see the snow covered top of Pikes Peak in the distance

Raymond (Whooray) taking a break

A few old cars sitting out in front of a old garage

Stopped in Cripple Creek for Lunch. Elevation: 9508 feet

Headed back home through Victor, Colorado (Elevation: 9,780) and caught some of the turning Aspens

Home through Woodland Park and a picture of the northside of Pikes Peak

Temperatures were in the mid 70's and dry. A great day for a ride in the mountains with great company.

I took much of the same ride Friday:  US-24, Salida, US-50, Penrose, CO-115.  It seems like the colors are turning kinda early this year.  Maybe drought related?
