You know why Obama removed the stars and replaced them with his logo?

He couldn't remember if there were 50 stars or 57. :D

I've lost family and friends who went to war for that Flag of ours. Have we ever had a more wothless P O S who is supposed to be our prez running down the Flag??? Him and that female he's married to?? Made in the U S of A or not it is an insult to me personally. My made in the U S of A Flag is on the front of my house as we speak-13 stripes and 50 stars-which B T W is as it should be. For those of you that met me at Inzane-12 you know i have American Flags on my M/C and my riding vest. I happen to be very proud of my country-right up to 2008. Not so much lately. Unfortunalely not very many are brought up with good old fashioned American values when it comes to God, country, the flag, the military, serving, government role, and civil responsibility.

Its all about me, freedom means I can do what ever I want especially if it pisses you off.  And good is now bad and bad is now good.

I remember when NO ONE would wear clothing that even remotely looked like it was made out of an old flag.  Now its common.

I remember when no one would wear an actual American Flag (even at the Olympics) or let it drag on the ground.  Now because lots of other countries do it, we do it too.

No respect, its all about "ME"

I think America is in big trouble.  Too many believe this new change government is on their side, and they will have a free ride if they stick with it.  How sad it will be when Obama runs out of other peoples money and everyting stops

R J

After serving in the Marine Corps and doing time in Korea, I'm afraid I'd try to shove his modified flag up his ass even if it meant Prison time.

I fly old glory 24/365.     She gets a rip in her from the wind, I replace the torn one, and then take the torn one to the American Legion main office for a proper burial.

If I saw a kid running old glory up the pole upside down or under another flag.  I'm afraid we would both go to the hospital.    The one responsible for the unfair flag display, to get it out of his ass and me to get the flag back so as to give it a proper burial.

I've always said "Put your heart in America or get your ass out".    Learned that way back in 1942 or 43.    It was a metal tab that went on the top of the license plate.     My little home town, approximately 990 people, all but 3 or 4 had that tab on their plate.

The word heart was a heart shaped symbol, and the word Ass was a Donkey.

I used to have a couple of them from that era, but all the moving around and the folks flooded basement one year, they got lost in the shuffle.

I was in Philly for labor day weekend with my kids. Took a sightseeing tour in the Historic District. Franlin Institute, Liberty bell, Constitution Hall, Etc.
On the tour route, the bus drove past a book store near Drexel University.
The book store had a 4'x8' American Flag Hung outside with rainbow stripes instead of red and white srtipes.
People have no respect for what the Flag Stands for.

At the very real risk of beating my chest AGAIN-i'm trying to figure out the WHEN of the direspect showing up for our Flag our country and not the least by any means-our people that are serving in uniform around the far flung reaches of planet earth and beyond?? I'm getting older-i have back problems and breathing problems but i'm proud to say i agree with you 100% + R J. I'm not above telling some one at a sporting event or where ever we honor our Nation and our Flag to remove your head gear and shut up. Irks me lots when i tell this to young folks-the parents agree with me and the truth is the parents SHOULD have told them-not me.  :uglystupid2: Any one of you out there in their 40s and 50s-we are counting on you to keep our Nation as great or greater as it should be. The youngest Vietnam vets are in their late 50s early 60s. If not the ones i mentioned-THEN WHO??? RIDE SAFE.

Those who burn or desecrate the American Flag are protected by the first ammendment. Not zackly sure when this came to be but DO NOT try that around me. Reason being-when the call to arms came i DID NOT run off to a foreign country to avoid my service. I joined the United Staes Navy.   I respond to this post with great trepidation.  :(  I think it was inappropriate for the politcal campaign of Obama to do this.  On the other hand I strongly support their right to do so.

I am also a veteran of the US Navy who served our country.  i believe very strongly in our individual rights and support all that defend them.

i find it very ironic that a lot of posters on this topic are fierce advocates of the 2nd amendment and the right to bear arms but here seem to advocate tossing out the 1st amendment because they do not agree with the speech (poster of a flag).

For those of you who look at yourselves as strong Americans supporting our great country, and then respond to some "speech" that you do not like with threats of bodily harm on those you do not agree with, shame on you.

I do not agree with many opinions and actions of others but will support their rights to those contrary actions as a proud American that supports our great country.

Not sure what posts youre reading where you see all this threat of bodily harm.  But it  seems to me that anytime  an innapropriate threat is made........all sides (politically speaking) pull together to condemn such talk.  maybe you are just eggagerating or stirring the proverbial pot, but it doesnt seem to me that we have a load of right wing conservitives with guns ready to pop anyone that is in oppostion to their way of thinking.

I'm sorry, I don't agree with the supreme court that desecration of the flag is protected speech.  I have the right to disagree, just as everyone in this country has the right to freedom of speech as long as you don't use the "N" word or any other that pisses off the liberals.

I also would have been offended if it was Romney's face on the flag.

I won't name names, but a couple weeks ago, there was a threat made here by one member against another member that if they ever saw them in person, they would punch them in the face over something they said in a political thread.  Not only was the post not pulled, but the person who was threatened was then mocked by a moderator of the board.  I haven't posted here since...and likely won't again...for awhile at least.

You'll have to read down a ways to find what offended Bob so.  the thread lay dormant for a long time before Gary posted his outrage.

Apparently Bob was not so much offended by Dave's freedom of speech when he called people nazis and expressed his blatant anti-Semitism, but took exception to my freedom of speech when I politely expressed my disgust.  If that's the case, the I say, Adios, Bob.  Feel free to go with my blessing.

Chrisj CMA

This is what I have to say about people getting offended and leaving.  No one has the power to get you offended enough to do something YOU dont want to do.

Been there done that, You have the responsibility, you have the power to not be offended.

People called Bush all sorts of names I didnt like......Im still here

People said things about Jesus I REALLY didnt like and what eventually happened was, I left for a while.  That was my choice, and I dont blame it on anyone.

I learned something.  Its up to me to manage my being offended.  You have the right to say anything you want.  So do I.  So, Me, Bob, anyone else.......stay, go whatever floats your boat.  I think you should stay.  But, I understand the want to get away.

Doesnt change the fact its your decision, and dont blame anyone else.  No one is responsible for your feelings but you, and none of us should take conversations in this here cyber club so seriously that we get so offended we want to hurt someone or end up hurting ourselves by getting so offended and then leaving.

I dont any more.  I stand up for what I think is right.  I may be passionate for what I believe strongly, but I have learned not to be offended, and not really care who disagrees with me if I have acted properly.

If I come accross is a way I dont want to I will apologize when needed, change my tone and press on, but no more getting upset, offended, or leaving "because of someone else"  I dont have that kind of power to make you leave and you dont have that kind of power over me.

No Willow, you are wrong again.  You didn't just politely express disgust.  You impolitely mocked the poster.  Furthermore, you did so after a threat was made against the poster which implicitly condones, if not actually endorses, the threat.  This is not a "freedom of speech" issue.  It is a "Rules of the Road" issue....specifically rule #2 that expressly addresses this sort of thread.  Dave clearly pushed the rule, Gman clearly broke the rule, and by mocking Dave, you clearly broke the rule and failed in your duties as administrator to enforce the rule.  Furthermore, this is not a matter of whether I was offended.  I can assure you I was not.  However it is a matter of whether I can feel welcome to participate in these discussions, and even worse, whether I need to feel threatened when I do participate here or in person at VRCC events.  And I can tell you that over the past several months, that feeling has been eroded significantly.  Because of your post, I place that also at your feet as an officer of this club.  All of us, and especially the club officers and elder statesmen, have the responsibility to act as ambassadors of this club and welcome everyone.  And instead, when called out for it, you basically tell a long-standing member to not let the door hit me in the ass.  Your inability or unwillingness to recognize this makes it appear that the environment here is even worse than I had hoped.  And that is really unfortunate.

I do understand your perspective, Bob.  I just don't agree with you on this point.

I guess the world and what one sees in it looks different depending upon which glasses one chooses.

As to my failing my responsibility to make everyone feel welcome, if you'll check my history you'll find my response to be basically the same to everyone who has threatened to leave.

I really don't think it's worse than you'd hoped and I say this without even knowing for what you'd hoped.  You go ahead and see it how you choose.  I'll continue to see nothing wrong with posting a picture of the Israeli flag.

Enjoy the day, Bob.  We're having one of those balmy, almost perfect, autumn days here where I am.  I hope yours is the same.

I've worn several hats in my careers.  One was a portrait photographer - studio manager at Chromalloy Photo Industries' Tucson studio, and later owner of my Studio in WI.    Calling on that experience/education - you can say different things by how you make a portrait.  It's not a random choice that the photo they used on the desecrated flag is shot from a very low angle.  It's to imply you are looking UP to the superior Obama, admiring and even revering him, as well as saying you are beneath and subservient to him.  Note the same angle is always used in socialist countries on the giant building size photos of dictators - Mau, Stalin, Gaddafi, Kim Jong-Il, Hussein, etc.  How appropriate Zero's middle name is Hussein.

I'll crop out the image so as not to repeat the desecration...
