When you stand there in the shadow of this machine, you realize just how many things have to go exactly right for it to fly..

BTW, I bet flying that 747 with a shuttle on the back is like flying a huge brick with a jet engine on it.

I remember going out to Edwards to watch Columbia land in the early 1980s.

This signifies the end of an era.  kinda sad.
