Avon grips

Replaced my ISO grips with a set of Avon MT Air Cushioned Anodized Grips today.    The ISO grips were getting loose and I wanted a new look. 

Installation is totally different than the ISO grips.  The clutch side is a tape and slide (same method used on golf clubs) with three small set screws to lock it down.  The brake side grip completely replaces the white Honda throttle sleeve.  You gotta open up the start/kill switch housing, disconnect the throttle cables, remove the Honda throttle sleeve and replace it with the new grip.   This was my first experience with this type, and I like it.  It is sound and not subject to getting loose in the summer heat.

I find the grip to be every bit as comfortable as the ISO.

I bought the same grips but in chrome earlier this year.  I did have to sand the throttle one, though.  The part where the cables attach were a little too tall to slide smoothly in the kill switch housing.  It got held up a little.  It only took a few minutes to fix.  I do have the aftermarket chromed housings and I figured that was the reason for them hanging up.  They do feel great, a lot better than the ISO grips.

I have the exact same setup (chromed housing).  I had to sand/dremel a bit to get a fit that was not binding.
