Question for outdoor grillers. Best propane???

What's the best SMALL portable outdoor grill that I can carry on the SS Grit Chips RV?

The electric ones don't have good reviews.

Don't want to have to mess with charcoal. Storage space on the RV is at a premium.

So propane with a 14lb tank seems to be the way to go.

Theres a cool little stainless camp stove (table top model) at Sam's club I've got my eye on. Runs on the little bottles, about $99. Seasonal stuff though, already gone in some areas.

Britman I have used a lot of different portable grills in the past 30 years while traveling with work but this has been the best one I've had. it's made to use the disposable cylinders so you'll have to adapt a hose to a tank but that's no problem. Look for sales around $179.00. I bought the bigger one cause I'm usually feeding others too...

Weber.  I have one in the 5th wheel that hooks right up to the propane tank.  I just take off one of the hoses that connect to the "T" and hook up the grill, then when finished grilling back to normal.  I have an extension hose and an adapter that take it down to the normal connector where a small bottle of propane would screw on.  I have a larger one for home, same deal.  They are cream colored on top and kind of dome shaped.  I noticed that some of the Nascar folks use them.  To do 10 burgers you might want the larger model, I think the small is called a junior or some such.

Academy has a 2 burner grill on sale. looks like it would be great for tailgating. Should be able to put flat irons on the grills to cook burgers.  Look at some of the RV outfitters, you may find one that is easy to set-up and does what you need.  Otherwise, just look around the tailgaters at the races. Someone will have exactly what you want or want built.

Used this one a few times and it works well....good even heat....we used a 20# tank....no problems...cleans up pretty well....however, stainless steel DOES discolor....

Have usd the Weber Q200 and it works great also and uses the smaller propane tanks....I prefer using the 20# if cooking a lot.....smaller grill area, pricier but has the Weber name - never had a bad Weber product.....

Holland grills are different than other grills...  Great for whole chickens, roasts, and tenderloins.  I have the full size Tradition, and love it

Hey Britman, I know you value the Valkyrie rider's input, but I think this one might be a question better asked to an RV'er.  We lot know how to grill at home for the most part - and possibly some tailgating excursions - but these folks know RV grilling:

BTW - I estimate about 25 sq in per burger - that's 4.5" diameter patty with room to breathe inbetween, so you're looking for something in the 250 sq in category.  This one http://www.bbqguys.com/item_name_Weber-Q-220-Portable-Gas-Grill_path_7119-13340_item_2071855.html looks like it'd be a great one - and I've never had any bad luck with a Weber grill.  Uses standard disposable propane tanks, but adaptable to 20-lb cylinders.

Don't know what your bossman says about mounting things to that Grit Chip bus, but there are some models that allow you to mount a frame to the RV and fold it down when needed.  Prevents the grill from taking up table space at a crowded picnic table.

Thermos brand fire and ice propane grill.  Store you beverages cold underneath in the cooler and the top rises up to grill or you can take off the top separate off the leg extenders attached to the cooler below.  Won't do 10 burgers unless small but 8 burgers will work.  Works great also making pancakes in morning or bacon.  About as small as you can go and still grill 8 burgers, possibly 10 smaller ones.

Paul, i have the Weber Q120 small portable grille at my apartment.  It's been working great for over a year.  Easily carried inside (thieves) or tail gate parties if so inclined.

Electronic ignition, built in temp gauge, cast iron grill, cast aluminum cover, fold out shelves, uses small propane disposable tanks (both sizes) and able to do about 15 chicken wings or 6 to 8 hamburgers.  It's easily adapted to 20 lb tanks but you lose the portability.  THe bigger of the two disposable tanks last for about 3 weeks of grilling for me.

Lots of Weber accessories for it too.  A bigger size is the Q220.

Lots of good suggestions.  That Holland grill looks interesting.  The only brand I have a lot of experience with is Camp Chef.  I have a large three burner with a grill top.  It works well for grilling or for outdoor cooking in pots.
