I guess I am one of the dinosaurs, I about lived at the Grande Ballroom, Grande Rivera, Eastown, Vanity.  Brings back some memories of good times, when you could rock and roll from the mind and soul.  This is a cool web site of mostly all bars, hotels, schools and concert halls in Michigan and who played there.
