I tell you what,  skateboards (longboards are now what the younger generation call them) sure have developed into a smooth racing machine since we were kids.  I bought my 11 year old a used one off craigslist for 80 bucks (new about 180) in like new condition and tried it out.  Boy, you can really get some speed going on them things and they coast forever and go over bumps and cracks and rocks in the road pretty good unlike when we were kids.  Tempted to buy another good used longboard off of craigslist for 1/2 price and show the youngster how us old timers use to do it.

Last time I tried showing how it is done,  I did a nose dive head first on a crappier skateboard in my driveway and also went downhill skiing about 7 years ago and did a face plant head first into a snowbank scrapping my entire layer of skin off my face, blood dripping all over - looked like someone beat the crap out of me.  When asked, I just said you should've seen what the other guy looked like - LOL

That was kind of my thought...once the collision was inevitable I think I'd have done a flying tackle!
